Schrodinger's Straight Girl

In Wen Chu's eyes, Qin Jianshu was elegant and cultured, with exquisite features and an exceptionally beautiful face, though she was a little cold. Whenever Qin appeared, Wen Chu never hesitated to let her gaze linger a little longer, whether at a conference or on campus. A friend once teased her, asking if she was interested, why not try pursuing her? Wen Chu laughed and politely declined, making her position perfectly clear. "Who would be foolish enough to fall for a straight woman, especially one who's engaged?" Who would have thought her words would come true? In less than six months, Qin Jianshu's engagement was called off. Wen Chu found Qin Jianshu drunk outside a folk-music bar. Who knew the woman was such a terrible drunk? She was completely unaware of her own allure, flirting relentlessly. After splitting Wen Chu's lip, she even looked up at her with innocent eyes. "Wen Chu, I think your lip is bleeding." * Qin Jianshu had often thought of herself as an ardent devotee of platonic love. She'd set strict rules for every boyfriend, so every relationship eventually ended with the man angrily accusing her of being "unfeminine." So what exactly did being feminine mean? That night, eyes hazy with drink, she held Wen Chu's face and drew her close. In a seductive, utterly bewitching tone, she murmured, "Tell me, am I unfeminine?" Reader's note: * The story takes place at a high school, and both protagonists are female teachers. * Strict yet gentle older woman x universally adored social butterfly, slow burn. [My next story will be Spring Colors Behind Closed Doors. Check it out and add it to your favorites~~] Zhuang Chunyu had a beautiful, captivating face. During her recovery, she used her looks to land a job as a rich kid's wingwoman on a trip, occasionally pretending to be a man who was in love with and pursuing him. She never expected the person he wanted to pursue to be Wen Xu. How do I tell him I've pursued her too? Is it too late to hop on a plane and run? * The first summer rain in the courtyard of the guesthouse disturbed the quiet night, falling on and off until morning. When Zhuang Chunyu opened her door at dawn, she saw yesterday's new guest sitting on the second-floor shared balcony. She looked exactly like Wen Xu. Zhuang Chunyu slammed the door shut. It had to be her eyes playing tricks on her. She'd go back to bed and sleep it off. When she woke up, the woman was still in the same place, with the same face. "Why not come sit for a while?" Wen Xu turned to look at her. Just as when they'd first met at seventeen, her eyes were smiling and radiant. Zhuang Chunyu's feet moved on their own, though her voice was full of disdain. "Wow, some people have really gotten better at fake smiles over the years~~" Later, Wen Xu stopped appearing on the balcony. Dressed in a thin shirt, she leaned against the doorframe. "Won't you come in and sit for a while?" Later still: "Won't you?" Theme: Words are sharp blades. Refuse to become part of spreading rumors.
