I'm So Poor, It's All an Act

Blurb 1.

Shen Yi had a lover. Their relationship was purely transactional, and whenever they met, they got straight to the point. In front of Shen Yi, Shu Jiabao was a sweet, impoverished college student.

Until one day, Shen Yi spotted Shu Jiabao by accident in a photo posted by a friend. The woman in the picture was poised and impeccably elegant, and even the watch casually revealed on her wrist was worth a million.

How was she anything like the girl who had nervously asked Shen Yi for tuition money afterward?

Shu Jiabao had no idea that her "poor college student" persona had already fallen apart. She carried on treating Shen Yi as usual, constantly saying things like:

"Sister Shen Yi, the school is asking for money again."

"Sister Shen Yi, I'm a little short on cash again."

"Sister Shen Yi..."

Shen Yi watched her put on such a convincing performance without showing what she knew, thinking: What a great actress.

Blurb 2.

Shu Jiabao had always thought she knew how to keep things within bounds, and that her relationship with Shen Yi was just a mutually beneficial arrangement, free of emotional entanglements. But when Shen Yi proposed ending things, Shu Jiabao couldn't sleep all night.

Shen Yi ran into trouble at work, and her source of income dried up.

She said, "I'm out of money. Find someone else."

Shu Jiabao thought about it all night. The next day, she showed up in front of Shen Yi in her flashiest car.

"I'm coming clean. I'm rich!"

"I'm not looking for anyone else."
