A Sigh for an Old Friend (Sanfu, Su Tang)

[Out-of-character portrayals, set eight years later, updates whenever inspiration strikes.]

The title comes from Wu Qiong’s "Sigh of an Old Friend."

For eight years, the secretary never understood why the boss always sighed wistfully during the dog days of summer. Then one day, a law firm selling cold drinks opened nearby. The boss gazed at the shop assistant, eyes shining with emotion. "Tang Yu!"

The person smiled faintly. "What would you like?"

"Two ice cream cones."

Only later did the secretary learn that the person wasn’t an ordinary shop assistant at all, but Tang Yu, the lawyer famous for exposing fraud, and the one person the boss had always yearned for.
