Her canon partner flushed with rage. "First of all, I'm a tiger. And second, you irresponsible author, could you at least have some respect for your own story?"

Before breathing her last, Shen Ziyou looked at him innocently. "If I respected my own story, I never would have met your fierce and adorable kitty self."

Her canon partner said, "You can die if you want, but I don't want to die."

Shen Ziyou died with her eyes wide open.

Years later, a rumor spread that when the witch Shen Youling died, the little immortal gentleman Jin Wuyun, whom she had loved with all her heart, had used her sword to take his own life. Their love was scorned by both the immortal and demon realms. The little immortal gentleman became a traitor to the immortal realm, and the witch deserved her death.

Jin Wuyun was out sightseeing with his senior sister when they came across a gravely injured woman whose bearing was like that of a goddess. She was delicate and extraordinarily beautiful.

His kindhearted senior sister took in the woman, who introduced herself as Shen Youling.

Shen Youling's arrival brought with it all sorts of strange events.

Jin Wuyun spent hundreds of years puzzled by it all, until one day he finally discovered Shen Youling's identity. She was not only a minor pawn sent by the demon realm to cause trouble, but also the author who had created this immortal cultivation world: Shen Ziyou.

Bound by the story's premise, the divine tiger clan, a distant branch of the Taowu clan in the immortal realm, fell hopelessly in love with the outwardly silly but inwardly scheming, ghostly demon witch. They both died in the end.

Reborn, Jin Wuyun was deeply unhappy about it. "Who gives themselves this much extra drama? This time, I won't let you treat me like a plaything!"

Shen Ziyou cried, "Somebody help! The supposedly gentle and frail High God, number one in the immortal realm, is spreading rumors about himself!"

Jin Wuyun said, "...If I hadn't spent a few days with you in the modern world, even the ghosts would believe you."

They both thought this rebirth would give them a different start, but Shen Ziyou still died.

Shen Ziyou collapsed at Jin Wuyun's feet, a smile still in her eyes. "There's one thing I didn't lie about. At first, I just wanted to write you as a cute little cat everyone would love. I hoped you'd always be carefree and would work hard to become strong."

Jin Wuyun acted as if nothing had happened, watching her disappear before devoting himself to shedding his label as the immortal realm's biggest loser and becoming the greatest war god in the divine realm through the endless years that followed.

The Heavenly Emperor asked him, "You've refused every reward I've offered over the years. What do you want?"

Jin Wuyun held the wickedly alluring Ghostly Sword. "I want to ask the King of the Underworld to help me find the soul I've been entangled with for over a thousand years. When I see her, I'll propose to her tens of thousands of times and be her one and only cute little cat forever, faithful to her for all my life."
