The seventh son of the Ji family of Nation N is mocked as a pampered good-for-nothing. He inherited his beauty from his mother, a former beauty pageant champion from another country, but didn't get the excellent Alpha genes his brothers have. At one month old, he was sent to live on his own in a small town in Nation N, where he endured a harder life than the younger brother born after him.
Every month, the Ji family gathered reports on him and delivered a summary: weak and easy to bully.
His domineering father scoffed. “As expected, he's useless.”
When eighteen-year-old Ji Yezhu learned about all this, he calmly took artificial pheromones to keep himself alive. “My destiny is to lie flat and wait for my beloved to mark me.”
Later, the beloved poor student he'd had a crush on since he was sixteen died after being bullied.
Ji Yezhu realized that the sudden gloom descending on the peaceful, sunny life he'd grown accustomed to held a terror he was powerless to resist. He fell seriously ill and differentiated into an S+ Alpha.
The Ji family began treating him differently and gave him access to the best educational resources.
But he was still so timid and spineless that he didn't dare let anyone know he was a member of the Ji family.
His aging father scolded him. “You good-for-nothing! Even your younger brothers know better than you how to use the family name to protect themselves!”
The young man, about to graduate, lifted his face, beautiful even without makeup, and basked in the warm light from the window. He smiled innocently. “Does that mean I can use it however I want?”
His father assumed he was bargaining with him and paid no attention.
A year later, Ji Yezhu swept up the top honors in youth business, took the position of chairman of the Ji family board, and trampled those who had deceived him. His voice still had the simple, unpolished quality of a young man from a small town. “Father, am I using it right?”
The head of the Ji family: “...”
The day the family inheritance battle began was the anniversary of his beloved's death. Ji Yezhu got dead drunk at a school in a small county town, his drooping eyes shaped like the character for “eight” spilling tears. “Hui Qiyu, you bastard!”
In the rain, a refined, distinguished person approached under an umbrella.
He held it out to him. “I'm sorry, Xiao Ji.”
At that moment, Ji Yezhu didn't care whether he was human or ghost. He marked him, and was marked in turn.
.
Important: They officially get together a year after graduating from college. In high school, they circle around each other in an ambiguous relationship, but nothing actually happens. Although they are eighteen and twenty in their senior year, their focus is on studying.
