My name is Ooka Akina, and I just returned to Japan this year.
According to our new butler, my younger sister Momiji is passionately pursuing some high school boy and insists she won’t marry anyone else.
I thought our family had raised her properly. Momiji is usually so clever, so how did she become such a lovesick fool?
At first, I thought that Hattori boy was just after the Ooka family’s influence. I went to him with a check and told him to stay away from my innocent little sister, but during our argument, I realized I had misunderstood him.
Later, I watched from the sidelines and finally figured out where the problem lay.
So I told Hattori to hurry up and make his relationship with his childhood friend official.
What? You say everyone already knows Heiji and Kazuha are a couple? Then why don’t you just admit it? What good is saying you “like” each other? Does liking someone guarantee you’ll end up together?
If you made your relationship official, would Momiji keep pestering you?
The young lady of the Ooka family has her pride. She’ll compete for the person she loves, but she won’t interfere in an established relationship.
Momiji hasn’t thrown her weight around or resorted to dirty tricks.
By the way, our grandfather is a former prime minister.
To save my sister, I can rent out any place Hattori has his eye on and make him go confess to his tsundere childhood friend.
If Momiji still refuses to give up after that, I’ll give her a proper scolding!
“Miss Momiji is young. She’s just fallen for someone, and she hasn’t done anything fundamentally wrong. It’s no big deal,” the new butler gently advised.
I was furious. “Well, at your age, I suppose you do see Momiji as a child. Is that why you keep indulging her and helping her again and again?”
The new butler fell silent.
I continued sarcastically, “Oh, I forgot. You’re no longer a member of the Public Security Bureau. As a butler, you have to obey the head of the household unconditionally, right?”
“...You remember?”
“No.” I denied it flatly.
The new butler suddenly said, “I’m helping Ooka Momiji pursue Hattori Heiji because I see myself in her.”
I froze. “What?”
“Because of something someone said without thinking many years ago, I fell in love all by myself... Doesn’t that sound like me?”
My heart suddenly fluttered. I coldly changed the subject. “Leave. You’re not needed here.”
Iori Muga raised an eyebrow and took off his glasses, revealing alluring phoenix eyes that gazed deeply at me.
“It’s all right. I don’t see the young lady as a child, so... I won’t indulge you.”
[Reader’s Notes]
1. The premise is essentially about my frustration with how the girls were portrayed in Detective Conan, making readers cringe, and how the boys’ characters were ruined too.
2. The pairing is Iori Muga. He has appeared only briefly in the original work so far, so much of his characterization is speculation and imagination.
3. This is not bashing Kazuha, Momiji, or anyone else.
4. The main story is not written in second person.
(Anything else I think of, I’ll add later.)
