The family even found a woman whose birth chart matched hers so they could hold a ghost marriage, ensuring someone would care for the sickly girl in the afterlife. But on the wedding night, the woman who had been dead for seven days suddenly opened her eyes. Some say Second Miss Ji went on a journey through the underworld and saw many things she was never meant to see. Her eyes were no longer like those of an ordinary person. The rumors grew wilder and wilder. Just as everyone thought they were all made up, Second Miss Ji opened an incense shop and announced that she only did business with ghosts. Ji Zhi, a civil servant in the underworld, was reported by ghosts for slacking off and neglecting her duties. Her superior sent her off to the mortal realm on a work assignment, where she was to experience all kinds of human life and deal with supernatural incidents. Fortunately, her superior treated her well. In the mortal realm, she had money, power, and a beautiful wife. Her wife, Wen You, was gorgeous and had a great figure. She even knew the secret arts of the mystic sects, and ghosts were terrified of her. She was also very helpful with Ji Zhi's work. Not long after, Ji Zhi returned to the underworld. On her very first day, she was dragged off to a matchmaking appointment. Her superior told Ji Zhi that her match was excellent in every way, and there wasn't anyone like her for miles around. Ji Zhi pursed her lips. Who could possibly compare to her ex-wife, Wen You? From a distance, she saw her match sitting sideways, with long hair reaching her waist. Her profile, backlit, was as perfect as the goddess Nuwa's final masterpiece. There was just something vaguely familiar about her. It was only when Ji Zhi sat across from her and saw the female ghost's face that her smile froze, and her soul turned cold. No wonder she looked familiar. It was her ex-wife. Wen You: "I heard you're getting married again?" Ji Zhi frantically shook her head and pulled a little red booklet from her pocket. "I'm not! Don't make things up. Look, I even carry my marriage certificate with me." The next day's underworld news headline: Ghost King Wen You Takes a Wife, Ji Zhi's Life or Death Uncertain. Notes: 1. The worldbuilding is entirely original!!! 2. Successor to the Lady of Meng Po's soup x Ghost King of Fengdu. Both are exclusive to each other, one-to-one romance, happy ending. 3. Information related to mysticism references Baidu Baike, Physiognomy, and A Grand Survey of Daoist Talismans. Coming soon: Explaining Science on a Supernatural Livestream Blurb: A new streamer recently joined White Whale Live. Mysterious and eerie, she starts broadcasting at midnight every night. Some say you can see unclean things in her livestream. But people are curious by nature. The more they're told that, the more they want to see for themselves. There aren't many people in the livestream. A caption at the top reads: Supernatural Livestream, Believe in Science. The contradictory title makes people scoff, but the next second, someone notices a vicious ghost clinging to the streamer's shoulder! The ghost looks bloody and has no physical form. It doesn't look like anything special effects could produce. For the first time, the comments scroll by at lightning speed. Who would have guessed that the new streamer would grab the ghost and pull it off her with her bare hands, then stuff it into a gourd bottle in front of everyone's eyes? She even reminds them: Believe in science. There are no ghosts in this world. Comments: ...If there are no ghosts, what did you just catch? At the next livestream after she caught a ghost with her bare hands, the number of viewers more than tripled. Most had come to see a ghost after hearing the rumors. [There are no ghosts. The streamer must be staging it herself. I've seen this kind of thing plenty of times.] [How did the streamer make those special effects? Teach me!] [Just chasing views.] "Hello, everyone. First, let me introduce my assistant, Xiao Xie." Sang Jing smiled as she pulled the 'person' beside her toward the camera. Xiao Xie showed little expression. She stared at the screen with mournful eyes and spoke in a chilly voice. "I'm the assistant." Behind her, the streamer seemed dissatisfied with her work ethic and gave a soft click of her tongue. The assistant stiffly pulled her lips into a 'kind' smile and added, "Hello, everyone." The comments exploded. Someone recognized this assistant, Xiao Xie. She was clearly the vicious ghost from that night! But no one believed them. They were all labeled paid shills, and the supernatural livestream continued as usual... Before long, viewers who often watched Sang Jing's livestream discovered that she didn't just take vicious ghosts on as assistants. She also helped them through the reincarnation process and treated the Eighteen Levels of Hell like a tourist attraction... If anyone asked, it was staged. Believe in science. "..." Theme: Know a person's face and know their heart, and never let longing go unanswered.
