Speaking of Science in a Supernatural Livestream

Chapter comments are open. Come on in~

Blurb:

A mysterious, eerie new streamer has recently joined White Whale Live. Some say you can see unclean things in her livestream. Plenty of people scoff at the claim, but everyone is curious. The more people say that, the more others want to check it out.

There aren't many viewers in the livestream. At the top of the page, it says: Paranormal Livestream, Believe in Science.

The contradictory title is enough to make people leave at a glance, but the next second, someone spots an evil ghost clinging to the streamer's shoulder!

The ghost looks gruesome and bloody, and has no physical form. It doesn't look like something special effects could create.

For the first time, the comments fly by at lightning speed, filling the screen with question marks.

The new streamer grabs the ghost and yanks it off her shoulder, then stuffs it into a gourd bottle right in front of everyone. She doesn't forget to tell them, “Believe in science. There are no ghosts in this world.”

Comments: ...If there are no ghosts, what did you just catch?

At her next livestream, after catching a ghost with her bare hands, the number of viewers has increased more than tenfold. Most of them have come after hearing the rumors, hoping to see a ghost.

[There's no such thing as ghosts. The streamer must be staging this herself. I've seen this sort of thing plenty of times. I'm out.]

[How did the streamer make those effects? Teach me, please (doge).]

[She's obviously drumming up hype to get traffic. Are there really idiots who believe this? Hahaha.]

Sang Jing ignores the snide comments and, smiling at the camera, pulls the “person” beside her into view. “Hi, everyone. I'm your streamer, Sang Jing. First, let me introduce my new assistant, Xiao Xie.”

Xiao Xie is expressionless, her eyes fixed on the screen with a resentful stare. She says without emotion, “I'm the assistant.”

The streamer behind her is clearly dissatisfied with her work attitude and gives a soft click of her tongue.

The assistant's expression visibly stiffens. Then she forces a “kind” smile and adds, “Hello, everyone.”

The comments explode. Someone recognizes Assistant Xiao Xie: she's clearly the evil ghost the streamer stuffed into that little gourd the other night!

Before long, the regulars in Sang Jing's livestream discover that the streamer doesn't just hire evil ghosts as assistants. She also takes them through the reincarnation process and treats the Eighteen Levels of Hell like a tourist attraction...

Ask her about it, and she'll say it's all staged. In modern society, you have to believe in science.

“...”

The streamer has some serious connections.
