You Forgot That You Love Me

After Su Yu lost her memory, she found herself with a boyfriend: Yan Zhao, the top heartthrob at Hong Kong University, a brilliant law student from a prestigious family with excellent grades and a flawless appearance and personality.

Most importantly, Yan Zhao treated her wonderfully, always there for her around the clock and attentive to her every need. Although she'd forgotten how they had gotten together, Su Yu felt like she'd struck gold.

She thought she and Yan Zhao would stay together until they got married, until one day she accidentally found the diary she'd written before losing her memory. It said:

[Yan Zhao is a liar. I thought he was really as great as everyone said, but it turns out he's just pretending.]

[He's sick. Seriously sick. I already told him I don't like him, but he keeps pestering me.]

[Forcing me won't work. I would never date a lunatic. Yan Zhao, you sick pervert.]

Su Yu realized their entire relationship had been a sham. She immediately blocked Yan Zhao everywhere, refused to speak to him, and unilaterally ended their ridiculous relationship.

She deliberately avoided Yan Zhao's schedule at home, then slipped back to the rental apartment they shared to pack her things and move out. But Yan Zhao was sitting on her bed, asking in that same gentle voice, "Why did you block me? Why are you moving? Why won't you talk to me?"

"Have you remembered everything? It's okay. Susu said she liked me, and I believed her."

"You have to keep your word. Girls who lie have to be punished..."

The gentle, mature, considerate boyfriend was just Yan Zhao's disguise. He was a complete lunatic.

For a while, writing nostalgic love letters to your crush was all the rage at university. Yan Zhao casually wrote a line in his notebook: If the free-spirited little bird I love won't be mine, then I'll grip her by the throat, clip her wings, and put her in the cage I've carefully built.
