The year Zhao Heshu turned sixteen, she was agonizing over one of life’s most serious questions: should she set up a stall selling wine or buns at the foot of Yucheng Mountain? Then, quite unexpectedly, she awakened the memories of her previous life.
After three days of deep thought, Zhao Heshu realized two things.
First, she seemed to be living inside a novel. She had finished reading it just before she died in her previous life, so she still remembered the plot quite well. Fortunately, she was merely a bit-part character whose name never even appeared, with no connection to the main couple or the plot as a whole.
Second, a little milk tea shop management game she had been playing on her phone before she died seemed to have come along with her. It was now inside her head, which was incredibly bizarre.
These two discoveries turned Zhao Heshu’s formerly peaceful life upside down.
On the one hand, as she recalled the novel’s plot, Zhao Heshu was astonished. What? Her extremely reclusive father, who had shut himself away for over a decade, had once been crown prince? Was he the very same “former crown prince” mentioned in passing by the narrator, the one who had devoted himself to Taoist cultivation and had not seen another person in over a decade?
On the other hand, after studying the game in her head, she discovered that the items she obtained in it could actually be brought into the real world!
Zhao Heshu was instantly hooked and played nonstop for three days and three nights.
It was fun. She loved it.
When she took her first sip of iced mint and green plum tea brought out of the app, Zhao Heshu felt her soul ascend and understood the truth of the world: this world cannot do without milk tea.
So, to reach her in-game business goals, she resolutely decided to go down the mountain and sell milk tea in the capital.
There were so many people in the capital!
And so, after slipping a note through the door to her father, who had shut himself away in a stone cave, Zhao Heshu packed her bags and headed to the capital.
To open a milk tea shop!
A few years later, Zhao Heshu gradually realized that the original novel’s hero and heroine, as well as its supporting female characters and villains, had all become loyal customers at her milk tea shop.
They even made sure to keep their schemes and battles from disturbing her or her shop.
The original novel’s heroine: “We absolutely mustn’t disturb Shu Niang! What if it slows down the launch of next month’s new drinks?”
The original novel’s villain: “If Zhao Heshu closes her shop, what am I supposed to drink from now on? Don’t bring this up again!”
