Memoirs of a Dead Wife

You Jia was free, but she no longer had a home--

Before they graduated from high school, Yu Wen slipped You Jia a love letter and told her how much she liked her. You Jia didn't take it seriously. At the time, she said, "I only think of you as a friend."

Later, at night, Yu Wen moved with graceful allure, beautiful and uninhibited. Slightly tipsy, You Jia wanted to follow the swish of that black skirt, but Yu Wen lifted her chin. The woman smiled teasingly. "What, we're friends, and you still want to kiss me?"

You Jia became obsessed with her, completely lost in love.

They got married, and You Jia, who had been so free, willingly let herself be confined within the walls of a single home.

Later still, the radiant Yu Wen, at thirty years old, became forever frozen in You Jia's memories.

She would never grow old. She would always be beautiful and gentle.

--

Yu Wen had always been a romantic woman, so she left You Jia with plenty of warmth to remember her by.

Enough to get her through a long stretch of lonely days.
