A beautiful, unscrupulous businessman bottom who isn't exactly a model of virtue x an upright civil servant top whose moral standards become very flexible around him
I had just quit that shameless quick-service franchise company when I sued the deceitful, dishonest outfit that had ruined countless franchisees, harmed countless people, and saddled them with debt.
During my lonely spell of unemployment, I somehow inherited a magical business management System.
Good news: The System gave me an entire five-story mall from the start.
Bad news: It's full of ghosts.
What a kind System. In this age of spiritual qi revival, ghosts are everywhere near large buildings, but developers aren't exactly honest enough to tell you that.
I found that the mall System has unlocked these stores so far: 1. [Clock-Out Bubble Tea for Wage Slaves] 2. [Guaranteed to Save Your Life Fashion Store] 3. [No-Fake-Fall Ice Rink] 4. [Substitute Meal Stationery Shop] 5. [No-Arguing Audio and Video Store]
What a kind System. Don't let the bizarre names fool you: these are all real, once-trendy stores that operated in the mall. They gradually closed down ten years ago after hauntings began. The stores have good foundations and interiors, so they can reopen after a thorough cleanup.
The System also listed some mall rules for [Don't Ask for Trouble]:
1. If yesterday's clerk is still working today, act as if everything is normal. It's best to pretend you're still in yesterday.
2. If you wander into the fashion store, buy an outfit with Bittcoin. If you don't have any, you can put up your lifespan as collateral.
3. If you fall at the ice rink, make sure to declare that you're not faking a fall, so you can avoid being helped and watched by nonhuman beings.
4. If the stationery in the shop starts writing on its own, avoid reading the words. If you discover that you can understand them, report it immediately.
5. Buy a record player and take it home. Your relationships with the neighbors will improve significantly.
6. But the number of neighbors will also decrease.
What a kind System. The ghosts are the rules-horror kind, too. Even the ghosts assigned by the System are more considerate than some people.
My task was simple enough: hire some professional safety personnel to work at the mall, clear out a few shops that had been haunted for ten years, bring in tenants and customers, and get everything up to par.
Then make a fortune and get the mall thriving again!
Wow, luck still hadn't left me alone.
The kind System even reminded me of one last thing.
During business hours, properly handle the official management personnel who periodically break in. They only come to inspect the mall's safety, so be polite.
The urban management officers of the spiritual qi revival era, huh? I get it. I just asked the System what the head of security for this area was called. Would we be seeing each other often?
The kind System had just one thing to say.
Don't worry, Host. You've met this big brother before.
After ten years of silence, intense spiritual energy suddenly surged through the abandoned mall in the dead of night, and the ghosts all over the city grew restless.
Wang Zhan, an elite spirit cop and captain of the Special Affairs Bureau, slowly raised his head and looked toward the mall that had been abandoned for a full decade.
"Something..."
"Has awakened inside that mall."
