Becoming His Deceased White Moonlight

Jiang Yushi was one of the few mortals to ascend to immortality through the Heartless Dao.

After ascending, he received a mission from his direct superior. His superior wanted him to descend to the mortal realm and sabotage Lord Lin's tribulation of love.

Jiang Yushi hadn't wanted to accept, but he paused when he caught sight of Lord Lin out of the corner of his eye. He realized that this Lord Lin was none other than his old nemesis from his mortal days: Lin Xuqing.

He accepted the mission at once.

In the first life, he was a regent with power over the court, while Lin Xuqing was a young wolf cub whose wings had not yet grown, raised under his thumb.

Jiang Yushi wanted to keep this wolf cub firmly under his control, preventing him from finding a good match or passing his tribulation of love, so that he would spend his entire life barely surviving under Jiang Yushi's thumb.

Yet when Lin Xuqing fell into an enemy trap and was near death, Jiang Yushi inexplicably charged into enemy territory and single-handedly snatched him back.

Jiang Yushi died, but Lin Xuqing was saved.

He thought Lin Xuqing's tribulation of love was sure to fail this time.

According to the records in the Matchmaking Pavilion, Lin Xuqing was supposed to meet his true love in the enemy camp. That person would save him from danger, help him fight his way back to the capital, and eventually fall in love with him. But after Jiang Yushi interfered, forget falling in love: it would be a stroke of luck if Lin Xuqing didn't end up hating him to the death.

He just hadn't expected everything to change after he woke from a nap. Lin Xuqing had safely passed the tribulation of love in his first life.

Jiang Yushi: ?

Fortunately, Lin Xuqing had more than one tribulation of love to undergo, and Jiang Yushi only needed to succeed once to complete his mission. He could even use the opportunity to pay Lin Xuqing back for all the trouble he'd caused him in the mortal realm.

But in the end, the mission seemed to turn into this:

Become Lin Xuqing's dead white moonlight.
