The God-Slaying Player Came from an Asylum

Blurb:

Yu Ci is a patient at the Guizhu Psychiatric Hospital.

One night, he catches the director with a second mouth growing on his forehead, eagerly devouring the corpse of the child next door.

The next morning, the director is found dead in his office, surrounded by blood and dismembered remains.

Yu Ci sits on the snow-white hospital bed, smiling innocently.

There's still a smear of blood on his collarbone that he hasn't managed to wash off.

After the director's death, Yu Ci inherits the psychiatric hospital.

Recalling everything that happened that night, he opens the former director's computer and enters the source of all the changes: a game called Guizhu.

Here, strange creatures roam everywhere and ghosts run rampant. A gigantic underworld river jellyfish drifts through the sky, while colorful eggs hatch from the body of a man with a snake's tail.

A pop-up appears above Yu Ci's head:

"You have a new quest. Accept?"

Yu Ci listlessly clicks No. The next second, a line of bright red text appears before him: "404 not found."

"Congratulations, player, you've successfully accepted the quest~ Next, follow the quest instructions to grow stronger, build a team, and suppress every ghost in Guizhu

"Until the game descends upon the world. Fight to the death."

Yu Ci: ? What kind of scam game is this?

Since that's how it is, I'll just lure all the lunatics I meet in the game into my psychiatric hospital~

And so, later on...

In the most terrifying abyss of Guizhu, a gigantic tentacled eyeball stares at the pale, weak human before it and sneers. "A mere ant dares trespass on a god's domain."

Yu Ci twirls the dice in his hand and curls his lips, nonchalant. "What if I insist on killing a god?"

As soon as he speaks, countless tentacles surge toward him.

The slender youth takes half a step back. Behind him, every most powerful being in all of Guizhu rushes forward as one, shielding him completely.

Yu Ci looks straight at the "god" in the abyss, still smiling.

"My dear patients, heed my command

"Kill it."

[When Yu Ci was young, he had an imaginary monster lover.

Later, during the endless "treatment" at the psychiatric hospital, he was strapped into a straitjacket. Electric currents repeatedly coursed through his brain, gradually wiping away his memories of his lover.

He was forced to forget his little monster.

But much, much later, his monster crossed from the real world into the game, covered in blood and wounds, and stood before Yu Ci once more.]

A game-based supernatural power progression novel, with a touch of Lovecraftian horror and plenty of nonhuman elements in the instances.

An ensemble cast with a large share of the story. The protagonist's team includes:

One doted-on team leader who isn't quite right in the head

One sunny, cheerful boy who says, "What's that? I'll hit it a couple of times."

One top-tier AoE sleeper god who sleeps for three years straight and wakes to wipe out three thousand enemies

One "sweet, quiet, pure, harmless" healer in a white dress who kills people

One lucky little koi fish, except he's a burly man, serving as the team's tank and designated screamer

And one mysterious nonhuman love interest whose name hasn't been revealed
