White Birds on Deer Isle

[A gentle, naive seme raised by a herd of deer x a depressed ballet dancer uke]

When Ning Shuang first met Xun Ye, he had only wanted to walk into the forest and find a quiet, beautiful place to end his life.

Unexpectedly, a boy as inarticulate as a stag stumbled upon him and saved him.

Later, in a hospital room at a sanitarium abroad, Ning Shuang would look at the gloomy sky beyond the window and often think of the silent forest and azure sea in that little town. His longing for death was like white waves, pushing him toward the depths.

Until one day, someone he had not seen in ages opened the door to his room.

Ning Shuang stared blankly at the neatly dressed man before him. The other had learned to speak human language fluently and knew how to use those complicated communication devices.

His manner was natural and poised, as if he had become a stranger, distant and unfamiliar, overnight.

Yet when he spoke again, he seemed just like the stag-boy from deep in the forest.

"Ning Shuang, I found you."

A second-chance romance with healing and redemption, bittersweet like rainbow candy.

"Again and again, he would shatter himself and throw himself away. Yet every time, someone would pick him up and patiently piece him back together, bit by bit.

"He leaves him in danger, saves him from danger, and loves him through it all."
