The Abandoned Dog Effect

At twenty-six, Jiang Gu brought sixteen-year-old Huo Mian'an home from the house of a friend who had passed away.

Three years later, nineteen-year-old Huo Mian'an pinned twenty-nine-year-old Jiang Gu against the foot of the bed, a bright red handprint on his face.

"...I'm your brother!"

"My brother died three years ago."

In the dim room, their breathing came in ragged, hushed gasps. Huo Mian'an's canine teeth sank into the side of Jiang Gu's neck, and his tongue gently licked the spot. "You took in this homeless mad dog, so even if I grind my teeth to dust, I'll cling to your trouser leg forever.

"And never let go."
