The Sign-In Routine of an Idle Farmhand

In his previous life, Li Changgeng was the local tyrant of Li Family Village. Spoiled by his grandparents and counting on his seniority, he shirked work and played dirty, chased chickens and dogs, and terrorized the whole village.

Reborn, he was approached by something called the "Sign-In System," which demanded that he sign in by working every day.

Li Changgeng was deeply unhappy. "If I'd known being reborn meant coming back to a life of hardship, I would've rather stayed dead. Maybe by now I'd have been born into a wealthy family and be living high on the hog."

System: "...Fail to sign in, and you'll be punished with an electric shock."

Li Changgeng: "I'll sign in, I'll sign in!"

With the supplies he earned by signing in to the System, Li Changgeng began living a life better than anything he'd ever dared dream of in his previous life.

But why did the most manly fellow in the village, over at the east end, still look at him so ominously?

In his previous life, this fellow could haul stones alongside the men, hold his breath to gather pearls, and plow ten mu of land in one go. In the end, despite being a ge'er and an outsider, he even became the village head of Li Family Village. The villagers used him as a punchline, saying Li Changgeng couldn't even measure up to a ge'er.

Li Changgeng refused to accept it. What was he so proud of? He'd been so capable in his previous life, and still ended up working himself to death, coughing up blood.

Let me see what makes you so impressive: "System, sign in. Du Qiming."

"Sign-in successful. Obtained a dream of Du Qiming's source of strength in labor."

That night, Li Changgeng eagerly entered Du Qiming's dream, only to find him lying in "his own" bed, murmuring in a voice that was hard to make out: "Brother Changgeng, hold me."

Li Changgeng: "...Damn, isn't he a quarter of an hour older than me? Have you forgotten who's older and who's younger?"
