The City's Will Is a Bunch of Cats

Qin Yue, visiting Zhuge's Thatched Cottage in Nanyang, spots a beautiful silver-shaded cat on the outside wall of the scenic area.

She reaches into her bag for a cat treat, trying to lure the kitty down.

Nanyang: ? Do I look like the kind of city that's greedy for food?

Nanyang: Meow. Come to think of it, you can actually see me. What a strange human.

Qin Yue: ?! A cat can talk? I must be hearing things...

*

Nanyang: Quick! Brothers and sisters, come meet the human I've adopted!

Luoyang: So cute. Let me pet you.

Zhengzhou: Nothing special.

Nanyang: You don't have one. (Waves a paw.)

Zhengzhou: (Furious!)

On an occasional trip out of the province

Qin Yue: This is morally questionable, but... Harbin is a long-haired cat, and just my type...

Nanyang: (On alert)

Qin Yue: Sorry, I'm already having too much fun in Harbin to miss Nanyang.

Now and then, Qin Yue enters the memories of the city spirits

Qin Yue: So this is what Zhuge Liang looked like. (Rubs her chin.)

Nanyang: ? What are you planning to do?

Qin Yue: Get a hoe and farm. It feels just like playing a VR game, and I don't even get tired. Nanyang, can I fly?

Nanyang: ...I suppose you could.

Qin Yue: Yay! Love you. ^3^

P.S. The subject is city spirits, with daily life and historical arcs as the focus.

P.S. There are all sorts of weird headcanons.

P.S. The city spirits are all cats of various breeds, chosen completely at random, depending on the author's mood (?).

Theme: Meow~
