She dumps him, then he pursues her / He is head over heels for her / Rekindled romance / Healing / Northeast China romance (maybe?)

There's a wildly popular post on an app lately.

[What's it like to travel halfway across China, only to run into your ex?]

Shen Xi: Thanks for asking. I was the one who dumped him. I don't want to experience that.

Especially since he begged her to stay back then, and she coldly rejected him.

-

Who would have thought that after going to Northeast China with her best friend, Shen Xi would actually run into her ex, Gu Xingfeng?

The man was just as she remembered him: gentle yet aloof, his silver-rimmed glasses shielding his cool gaze.

No matter who approached him to strike up a conversation, he was impossible to get close to.

Amid the swirling smoke, her best friend said to Shen Xi, "That refined scoundrel over there looks like the abstinent type."

Shen Xi: ...

In her memories, in a room where light and shadow mingled, Gu Xingfeng was always kissing her without restraint.

His arms would encircle Shen Xi, holding her close as if afraid she would leave him, his embrace brimming with love.

That had nothing whatsoever to do with being abstinent.

-

Later, at a class reunion, Shen Xi accidentally drank too much.

When she woke up, she was in Gu Xingfeng's bed.

The curtains were still drawn. The man was bare-chested, his muscles sharply defined.

He braced both hands beside her ears, his scorching gaze seeming to pin Shen Xi in place.

"How could you treat me like this..."

The nonchalant facade he had put on was now nowhere to be seen.

What Shen Xi didn't know was that all those years after she dumped him had been nothing but endless, restless nights for Gu Xingfeng.

Reading Guide:

1. Set in Northeast China. I wrote this for myself because I love this kind of story.

2. He's older than her. They have a three-year age gap, and both are sexually inexperienced.

3. Southern little potato x northern lovesick older man. The author is fond of this kind of contrast.

4. The cities in the story are based on real places, but the schools and locations are fictional. Please don't look too closely, QAQ.
