The Amnesiac Big Shot's Illiterate Original Wife [The Nineties]

Qi Rongrong was still crying when she died,

a letter from her husband and divorce papers clenched in her hand.

The letter listed her faults: illiterate, wasteful, unable to have children.

It also said he had met a well-educated college student, who was his true soulmate.

Qi Rongrong didn't want things to be this way, either.

Her family was poor, and her parents had a whole crowd of daughters while trying for a son.

By the time she was born, her parents had completely fallen apart. They abused her throughout her childhood and never let her go to school.

At seventeen, she couldn't take it anymore and jumped into a river to die.

Under the bleak northern winds, in the bitterly cold water, a man in military uniform jumped in after her.

He eventually became her husband.

At first, everything was good.

But she still hadn't become pregnant.

Her parents-in-law endured it for three years, yet they could never persuade the man to divorce her.

Three months ago, the man returned to his unit after a leave to visit his family, saying he had a mission to carry out.

Then she received a letter from him saying he had decided to divorce her.

She touched her belly, which hadn't begun to show, and decided to demand answers for herself and her child.

But she died as soon as she stepped off the train.

When she opened her eyes, she was back on the day she received the letter.

Her niece had just finished reading the letter and divorce papers aloud. Tears were still on her face.

She suddenly stood up and looked at her sharp-tongued mother-in-law. "Fine, we'll get divorced. Have him come back and tell me himself. Otherwise, I won't believe a word of it!"

Chu Yandong woke from a deep sleep with no memory of who he was.

Worse still, he was deaf and couldn't hear a thing.

He was about to ask the doctor what was going on when a beautiful woman entered his hospital room.

She told him that he'd injured his brain and ears while carrying out a mission, and would need to wear hearing aids for the rest of his life.

But she didn't mind. She was willing to take care of him as his wife.

Chu Yandong looked at her skeptically. "Have someone from the military come tell me. Otherwise, I won't believe a word of it!"
