A Shape-Shifting Mushroom, but an Insectoid Dad

Mushrooms are good; the babies are bad.

In the wasteland era, everyone has mutated.

Sewis has become an insect queen.

Her greatest duty is to reproduce for her species, but everyone's genes have developed problems.

Male insects can't provide the other half of the genetic material, and the eggs laid by the queen alone can't hatch into living beings.

Until one day, a mushroom comes to her door with a string of hungry little babies in tow, babbling as they call her "Mom."

Sewis: ??? That works too?

A Mo is a mushroom, a mushroom that can take countless forms.

His greatest mission is to find the most stable shape for himself, so he won't wake up one day, look in the mirror, and scare himself into a faint.

One day, feeling depressed about his ugly form,

he sent his mycelium spreading out. When he drew it back, he found a nest of eggs in his arms.

A Mo: !!! What a find. High in protein!

But when he reached his mycelium toward those crystal-clear little eggs, a miracle happened.

He somehow became a dad, responsible for an entire nest of constantly crying babies.

Oh, heavens, just kill him already!

He has no choice but to cross mountains and rivers to take them home.

The moment he enters the cave, a grand welcome ceremony dazzles his fungal eyes.

In the dazzling blue glow, he sees the queen destined for him.

From that moment on, he is willing to submit to her, for all eternity.

But the babies rush into the queen's arms and complain in their babyish voices:

"Mother, Daddy's so mean. He wanted to eat us!!!"

A Mo: ??? You didn't say that when you were desperately sucking nutrients from my mycelium.

Tips:

1. The female lead is a mutated hybrid insect, with the social structure of honeybees and the glowing blue-light properties of fungus gnats.

2. The male lead is a chaotic mushroom with many forms: ugly or handsome, fragrant or stinky, poisonous or nonpoisonous.

3. Inspired by cordyceps. In the end, the two species will merge and develop entirely new traits.

4. In ancient times, the word "queen" could refer to a man. The male lead eventually becomes the Mushroom Queen.
