The World-Saving Tool Decides to Coast

Yan Ling came back from the dead, only to learn that he was nothing more than a tool for saving the world in a supernatural horror movie.

Worse, he was the protagonist of the sequel, with rock-bottom popularity, the kind of character no one would mourn if he died.

The Red Moon descended, and the world underwent a global transformation. Yan Ling had the perfect ability to save the world, but he was sickly and weak.

So the little bit of kindness the powerful man had shown him in his previous life was just bait, luring Yan Ling into giving everything he had before exploiting and deceiving him.

The people Yan Ling considered his companions saw him as nothing but a tool, using him to rescue their teammates. Yan Ling lost his education, his friends, and, in the end, his life.

Reborn, he found the powerful man knocking at his door once again. Unable to refuse, Yan Ling could only play dead and coast through life.

Give him a poke and he'll bounce, but if he can lie down, he'll lie down. So long as the people he cares about aren't dragged into it, whatever.

And saving the world? Let it burn. What a pain.

But this time, he was coasting, the world was on the verge of ending, and why was the whole world acting differently?

They said, "Without you, this world has no reason to exist."

Yan Ling: ?

* Strong x strong. An ultra-possessive, darkened powerhouse top x a sickly, world-weary, beautiful bottom who just wants to coast through life. The bottom is mildly adored by everyone.

* Both are reborn, with a groveling arc. The top will regain his memories later. No switching the top.

* An alternate-universe urban supernatural story with Lovecraftian elements. May include fourth-wall-breaking scenes.

Theme: Reject emotional manipulation.
