A Quick Guide to Becoming a Mom Without the Pain

As I passed a dilapidated-looking shrine, my friend joked, "They say wishes made here used to come true." I was already fed up with everyone nagging me to find a boyfriend, so I joked, "Then I wish I could split myself by mitosis. Ideally, the two of us wouldn't be too alike, so I could get it over with in one go."

But after I got home, I accidentally cut myself while slicing fruit. I searched everywhere, rummaging through the cabinets until I found the first-aid kit buried at the bottom of a cabinet in the small spare room, then disinfected my cut. That's when I saw that someone had appeared right where my blood had just dripped!

He was frowning as he surveyed my living room with undisguised disdain, but the gesture did nothing to diminish his exquisite, ravishing features.

As I stood there dumbfounded, he glared at me. His dark eyes were full of haughty arrogance and entitled impatience, but the next second, when our eyes met, his expression turned helpless.

...Then he ran off.

...Naked.

...Uh.

Wait, doesn't he look familiar?

Still shaken, I called the police and told them a naked pervert had broken into my home. While I waited for them to arrive, I tried to clean up the blood on the table, only to find that the drop had vanished.

It took several similar incidents before I belatedly realized... Could this actually be freaking mitosis?!

Is this mitosis a little indecent or what?! Sure, I'd said I hoped my counterpart wouldn't be too much like me, but that didn't mean I wanted him to look exactly like some obnoxious classmate I'd known before!

And even though I'm relieved that he arrived fully grown and I don't have to raise him, splitting every time I get hurt is way too much! I'm still young. I don't want to be surrounded by a whole crowd of people who look exactly like the person I hate, all clamoring to "support" me in my old age!

* The pairing is with a gender-swapped Tomie. The male lead wasn't created by the female lead's wish. Tomie already existed in this world. This isn't actual mitosis, and they aren't blood relatives. She's just unlucky (.

* Though this is described as a gender-swapped Tomie, aside from sharing some of the original Tomie's physical traits, the character has little to do with her. There are also lots of my own headcanons, so many that you could probably read this as an original story. If you want the original Tomie, read with caution.

* The Tomie who splits off from the female lead is already very fond of her from the start. The story is basically a romance. It's mostly everyday life, but there are also sanity-destroying scenes.
