Tsukimori Shinichi bought a game called "Scientific Romance," hoping to enjoy the thrill of pursuing a love interest. But as soon as he logged in, the screen was filled with a crowd of silhouetted figures, so bright it hurt his eyes.
To protect his vision and keep from getting dizzy, he frantically tapped the screen, trying to quit. Who knew his nearly-dead phone would suddenly short out? The next moment, he was zapped right into the game.
Now that he was inside the game, the only way home was to beat it. Thinking of the title, "Scientific Romance," Tsukimori Shinichi realized:
I get it. I need a character to pursue.
As Tsukimori Shinichi struggled to remember the possible love interests, he realized he could only recall a bunch of black silhouettes.
Luckily, even though he had no idea what was going on, he could still use the game's starting menu.
The menu showed a bunch of character cards that hadn't been unlocked yet: angelic high school student, blonde superstar, corporate heir, TV announcer, cafe employee, genius scientist, mixed-race detective who had returned from abroad...
Looking at the familiar black silhouettes on the character cards, he exited the menu with a headache.
Tsukimori Shinichi: Help, who are these people? This is so hard!!!
With a headache, Tsukimori Shinichi walked into a cafe and spotted a handsome blonde, mixed-race employee.
Tsukimori Shinichi: So... so good-looking. Blonde superstar, check. Cafe employee, check.
The baby-faced employee gave him an angelic smile and sweetly said, "Welcome."
Tsukimori Shinichi: Angelic high school student, check. TV announcer, check.
As the angel handed him the menu, a watch worth tens of millions was visible on his wrist. He also thoughtfully recommended a drink that would go perfectly with his meal.
Tsukimori Shinichi: Corporate heir, check. Genius scientist, check.
Tsukimori Shinichi was still swooning over the blonde employee's voice, which made his heart flutter, when a murder at the cafe cut his happiness short. Then he watched the blonde sweetheart solve the case with ease.
Tsukimori Shinichi: Mixed-race detective who returned from abroad, check.
Tsukimori Shinichi: I can totally pursue this character!!!
Amuro Tooru had noticed a strange customer named Tsukimori Shinichi showing up at Cafe Poirot lately. He was always saying weird things to him, which made Amuro, who was undercover, go on high alert.
After catching Tsukimori Shinichi sneaking around the parking lot again, using "walking him home" as an excuse, Amuro gave him a look with Bourbon's eyes, returned the roses he had been given with dark menace radiating from him, then walked off without looking back.
After failing to win him over yet again, Tsukimori Shinichi looked at the strategy guide on the game screen and wondered, with a headache, what step he had gotten wrong.
Tsukimori Shinichi: Help, this character is so hard to pursue!!!
Reader's Guide:
1. He fell in love with Amuro Tooru at first sight, then got the target mixed up.
2. He thinks this is an otome game, but it's actually a harem game. So whenever Tsukimori Shinichi uses the game's guide to pursue someone, their affection for him goes down.
3. Tsukimori Shinichi realizes the guide isn't the problem, he is. Even after throwing away the guide and going after him himself, he still can't win him over.
4. To be continued.
