[The synopsis is terrible, but the author really can't write one, so this will have to do]
Unhinged synopsis:
Pei Ning of Shengdu was once a little princess who grew up wealthy and carefree.
Pei Ning was beautiful from childhood, and grew into a woman of breathtaking beauty. A casual glance from her gentle, affectionate eyes was enough to make people's cheeks flush and their hearts race.
Countless people willingly bowed their noble heads, fell at her feet, and offered her everything, declaring their love, yet she never took any of them to heart.
The year she turned twenty, the little princess, who had accidentally lost both her parents, seemed to trigger some kind of mechanism. One man after another came running toward her with a "villain's corruption arc," "substitute," "mistaken identity," "angsty romance," "coercive love," or "groveling after the breakup" script in hand.
The men were infatuated with the little princess in her ivory tower. They longed to drag her down from the clouds into the human world, plunge her into the mud, keep her imprisoned by their side, and make her their possession.
Under their relentless, pressing gazes, the innocent, sweet, helpless Pei Ning threw herself lovingly into someone else's arms. "Sorry, I already have true love."
Zhong Ye, whom the men regarded as an unknown "pretty boy," smiled as well. "Sorry, I'm her true love. Losers, get on your knees and leave."
They seethed with rage, but no one knew except Pei Ning herself that Zhong Ye was also her.
Less unhinged synopsis:
Not long after graduating from college, before society had really had a chance to beat some sense into her, Pei Ning played video games all night as usual, and transmigrated as usual.
Based on her understanding from her previous life, the world she transmigrated into was probably a mash-up of countless novels.
...The novels mashed together were mostly different kinds of "villain corruption," "substitute," "white moonlight," "coercive love," and "groveling after the breakup" stories.
...Maybe because she was a transmigrator, the female lead was probably, perhaps, possibly her in most of them.
Fortunately, what kept her from despairing was that she hadn't transmigrated into just one body.
Half of her consciousness had also become "Zhong Ye," the male protagonist in the single-player RPG leveling game A Mortal Becomes an Immortal, which she'd played the day before she transmigrated. He was a male character who had cleared the game by achieving perfect immortality.
More importantly, Zhong Ye, having cleared the game and become immortal, could cross between worlds and come to her side.
As long as she turned Zhong Ye into the "male lead," he could stay in this world indefinitely, and she would never have to be constrained by any "plot" again.
Pei Ning: So all I have to do is show off how much I love myself? What a great deal!
And so Pei Ning, who had already been tearing up the script without a care, became even more brazen.
Pei Ning: This is what you call clearing the game early. No desires, no demands, just giving up and taking it easy.
Notes:
* An unconventional self-romance story plus secret identity story. It may not be much like a traditional secret identity or self-romance story. Zhong Ye is Pei Ning's secret identity, and they're one and the same person. In a sense, they're both pure, too (?)
* An unserious modern story with an old-school feel, full of outrageous Mary Sue tropes. The heroine is beautiful, people fall in love with her at first sight, and everyone, men and women alike, adores her. But she doesn't love anyone. She only loves herself (Zhong Ye: That's me). The heroine isn't a good person, either. She does whatever she wants, without restraint. "Angsty romance" = the men suffer through angsty love, while Pei and Zhong love each other deeply.
* The heroine is a domineering CEO now. She has an overpowered golden finger, and the story doesn't make much sense.
* Pei Ning = Zhong Ye, Zhong Ye = Pei Ning. This is the central theme of the story. Don't separate "Zhong Ye" and "Pei Ning." They can't be separated. Without Pei Ning, there would be no Zhong Ye.
* I'm just writing whatever comes to mind, so just read it however you like.
* Finally, remember: Feel sorry for a man and regret it for ten thousand years.
The author is terrible at naming characters, and the hero's name may change before the story starts.
