When Li Jingshui was seventeen, she stayed up late secretly reading a xianxia novel. The next day, she transmigrated into the original novel as an unnamed male cannon-fodder character, Jun Changlan. She opened her eyes in a blood pool in the Demon Realm, nearly meeting a bad end from the start.
Fortunately, after struggling and enduring hardship in the Demon Realm for five hundred years, Li Jingshui finally made her way to the position of its new ruler.
Another five hundred years passed. By the time the original story was about to begin, the name "Li Jingshui" had disappeared completely, while "Jun Changlan" had become a nightmare no one in the cultivation world dared mention. He had completely fallen to darkness, becoming the ultimate villain, a Boss who wanted only to destroy the world.
Then one day, he suddenly sensed that another version of himself had appeared in the world: a Li Jingshui who had never transmigrated at seventeen and had lived an ordinary life in the modern world for twenty-five years.
The moment he saw her, he began to cry without warning.

When Li Jingshui was twenty-five, she stayed up late binge-watching a TV adaptation of a xianxia novel. The next day, she transmigrated into the original novel. She opened her eyes in the countryside outside a mortal town, still wearing her pajamas.
The good news was that she'd finished the series and had read the original novel in high school, so she knew the plot inside out. Her transmigration also came with a System and a golden finger.
The bad news kept piling up: she'd brought her whole body over, she was severely nearsighted, had no talent for cultivation, and was so unfit that she couldn't pass the 800-meter run. The System looked like a human trafficker and insisted on forcing her to win over the world-destroying villain, the Boss. Otherwise, they'd both die.
The seasoned office drone Li Jingshui didn't even blink. She gave up and lay flat on the spot: Sorry, can't do it, I'm not capable. You might as well just kill me.
Then one day, Jun Changlan, an extremely handsome man who was exactly her type and whom she fell for at first sight, dropped out of the sky. He looked even more beautiful and moving when he cried, and Li Jingshui fell in love right then and there.
The System fell silent. The world grew quiet. Li Jingshui came back to life in an instant.
At seventeen, Li Jingshui had never imagined that she might someday fall in love with someone. She might even have doubted whether she was capable of loving anyone. But at twenty-five, Li Jingshui found her answer: She would always love herself, with every fiber of her soul, until the end of her life.

A little scene:
Jun Changlan, ruler of the Demon Realm: moody and unpredictable, solitary and cruel, with unfathomable cultivation. Rumored to kill anyone he meets, he appeared out of nowhere five hundred years ago and has wanted to destroy the world ever since. Few in the cultivation world can stand against him, and everyone lives in fear every day.
Yet one day, an astonishing rumor began to spread in secret throughout the world.
That ill-fated loner, Jun Changlan, the very embodiment of a demon god, had fallen for an ordinary mortal girl. He was hiding his identity and dating her. He no longer wanted to destroy the world or was tired of life. All he wanted was to spend an ordinary, peaceful life with the mortal girl.
At first, everyone dismissed it as a ridiculous rumor someone had made up. They'd sooner believe the number one cultivator in the world was a dog than believe Jun Changlan could love someone tenderly.
But then one day, almost everyone in the cultivation world received an invitation to the great wedding of the ominous Jun Changlan and the mortal girl. He didn't even leave out the dogs along the roadside.
Everyone: Mortals are terrifying... Woof, woof!
Reader's guide:
1. The author is bad at blurbs. In a spiritual sense, the male and female leads are "the same person," so I think this counts as narcissistic romance... But physically, they're a man and a woman, so it's also a heterosexual romance (nods firmly).
2. The heroine isn't a strong female lead. She's just an ordinary person at first, and she won't become insanely powerful later, either. The male lead is the strongest, and the story features a redemption arc.
3. The male lead really is a villainous, world-destroying Boss. He's not a good person; he's truly awful. But it has a happy ending.
4. The male lead hides things from the heroine early on, but all his secrets come out later. The story begins after the twenty-five-year-old heroine transmigrates.
5. At heart, this is just a healing, sugary-sweet story based on the author's very strange preferences. No unsolicited writing advice, and no starting arguments or fights. The male and female leads are the same person! If you insult the heroine, you're insulting the male lead, and if you insult the male lead, you're insulting the heroine!! Saved on December 14, 2025.
6. I urgently checked the rules for how to categorize stories on the Multiverse channel: "When the protagonist's gender changes and the story revolves around the gender after the change, use the channel for the post-change gender." So, in conclusion, this story belongs in romance, not Multiverse. That's right.
Premise: Loving yourself is the beginning of a lifelong romance.
