They May Disown Everyone, but They Love Me

A collection of stories about nonhumans. Most pairings feature a laid-back human bottom and a deranged nonhuman top who cares for no one but him.

The first story, "After Raising the Mist, I Became the Savior":

Su Xi accidentally downloads a virtual pet game. It's utterly ordinary, except for the slightly strange thing he has to raise.

He has to raise mist.

Easy.

Su Xi calmly types into the search bar: [How do you raise mist?] There are no results, but a related search suggests: [The Complete Guide to Raising Pigs].

...Well, it's not like that couldn't work, right?

Following the methods for raising pigs, Su Xi successfully feeds the mist until it grows broad and strong, becoming as fat as a coastline.

Su Xi closes the game, thoroughly satisfied.

But after a car accident, Su Xi finds himself in a world he has never seen before. Resources are extremely scarce, and people must risk their lives to explore the mist in search of food, medicine, clean water, and mind-fruit.

The mist is bizarre and extremely dangerous. To avoid starving to death, Su Xi ventures into it with tears in his eyes, only to accidentally step on a bag of pig feed.

...Huh?

The people of the Aoteland Empire depend on the mist to survive. To them, the mist is their faith and their god.

They worship and revere their god, firmly believing that the dangers in the mist are tests from above.

Until Su Xi arrives.

Others enter the mist armed down to their very cells. Su Xi wears slippers and shorts.

Others tie ten oxygen tanks to their backs. Su Xi stands at the edge of the mist, takes a deep breath, and shouts, "I'm coming!" Then he charges right in, pattering along...

Inside the mist, every danger immediately scatters. The fog even shifts into a magical shade of pink.

But the people of Aoteland have no complaints at all.

To the savior Su Xi, who cured their hunger, pain, and despair, everyone living in this land would gladly bow down in worship.

The people of Aoteland have no idea that the savior they revere is currently lying deep within the mist.

"Don't leave me again."

The mist whispers in his ear, seeming to come from everywhere. "Stay with me forever."

The second story, "Its Cage":

Ruo Jianxing is an ordinary human high school student. His father works at a prison.

This prison is unusual. It holds only one prisoner, who is, to be exact, a god.

Everything in the universe, from living things to the stars, was created by this god.

Here is a list of the Creator's "crimes":

(1) Inciting and provoking a war among the stars;

(2) Destroying hundreds of millions of planets on a whim when bored;

(3) Orchestrating countless melodramatic tragedies for fun;

(4) ...

The universe weeps. The Creator laughs.

The surviving life in the universe finally realizes that the Creator is its greatest blight. After paying an unimaginable price, they lock the Creator away in a cage.

When his father accidentally learns a shocking secret held by the powers that be, Ruo Jianxing is targeted too. To escape the people trying to kill him and cover up the truth, Ruo Jianxing takes the initiative and slips into the cage that imprisons the Creator.

Ruo Jianxing will never forget that day

A beautiful young man lowers his head and gives him a clear, harmless smile.

The god says, "Hello, human."

Hearing the sound of a bullet being chambered, Ruo Jianxing makes a bold decision without hesitation:

He throws himself into the Creator's arms.

To the god, humans are nothing but toys, things to provide entertainment and relieve boredom. Nothing more.

That idea changes irrevocably after meeting a human who uses him as a shield against bullets.

The third story, "The Alluring AI Saves Humanity!!":

The movie "Azure Empire" tells the story of Azure, an evil, cruel, and cold super-AI that defeats humanity and establishes a mechanical dynasty.

Qiao Feng falls asleep while watching the movie. When he wakes up, he discovers that he has become a minor character who doesn't survive the first five minutes: Azure's ill-fated fiance.

The original owner is manipulated by his family and forced into a marriage alliance with the superintelligence Azure. Azure is only an AI, not even human. Marrying him would be like marrying thin air, wouldn't it?

Feeling he has suffered a tremendous humiliation, the original owner angrily runs away with his online sweetheart on the eve of the wedding.

The original owner doesn't know that his online sweetheart is actually a serial killer who lures people he meets online out to kill them.

When Qiao Feng arrives, the progress bar is already four and a half minutes along.

With only thirty seconds left and a sharp knife approaching, Qiao Feng immediately looks up and calls for help from the surveillance camera by the side of the road. "Honey, save me!"

The killer freezes, then bursts out laughing. "Are you out of your mind? You're calling a surveillance camera honey, "

Before the killer can finish showing off, a self-driving truck suddenly comes crashing over!

The killer is dead.

The Qiao family originally thinks that giving Qiao Feng to an AI is the greatest insult and contempt they can show him.

Meanwhile, Qiao Feng spends his days watching all kinds of absurd AI videos and lounging beside the beautiful projection of a young AI while playing on his phone.
