Lazybones Vs. the Heavenly Dao

Su Xian is lazy by nature and accidentally transmigrates into the protagonist of the dark novel Unusual Heavenly Way. The story follows a protagonist chosen by the Heavenly Way who endures countless hardships before becoming a god.

The real source of the angst is that the Heavenly Way is an extreme control freak. Through unconventional methods of "encouragement," it transforms the protagonist from an ordinary person with a full range of emotions and all the flaws of greed, anger, delusion, pride, and sloth into a god devoid of feeling or desire.

In half an hour, the Heavenly Will will descend, kicking off Su Xian's blood-soaked, tear-filled life.

That night, Su Xian flees thirty thousand li without stopping. As long as he runs fast enough, the Heavenly Way won't catch him!

Unfortunately, the Heavenly Way catches up anyway.

Su Xian draws his sword with tears in his eyes. "I'd rather kill myself than be refined until I'm worse off than dead."

But the Heavenly Way opens with three questions: "Who am I? Where am I? What am I supposed to do?"

The Heavenly Way... has amnesia??!

Overjoyed, Su Xian immediately brainwashes it. "You're my... System! Your full name is the Cannon Fodder Rescue System."

Su Xian: "We're in a cruel cultivation novel, and I'm a minor cannon fodder character. You showed up to save me!"

Su Xian: "You have to protect me from getting hurt. That's your mission, understand?"

The Heavenly Way: "Oh."

With the Heavenly Way backing him up, Su Xian thrives in the perilous cultivation world like a fish in water.

Someone jealous of Su Xian tells the Heavenly Way the truth, then suggests, "It's time to put Su Xian through some proper trials. Why not start by breaking his legs...?"

The Heavenly Way: "Lay a hand on him, and I'll break your legs first."

The visitor: !!!!!

A cultivator in the Deity Transformation stage frames Su Xian. On the day that cultivator undergoes tribulation, eighty-one bolts of heavenly lightning blast him into the sky.

Su Xian looks up from his pastries. "What's that?"

The Heavenly Way wipes a crumb from the corner of his mouth. "Fireworks."
