Liao Yin is Chinese. He's skilled with a sword, knows how to use talismans, has top-tier martial arts skills, is great with computers, likes stirring up trouble, and is a little crazy. He's an incredible talent who dances on the line between science and the supernatural, with no bottom line to speak of.
Also, he transmigrated three days ago. He's now a Chinese American in Gotham, with a French-Italian father and a Chinese mother. He fits right in among the mostly European-American population of the city.
After learning about Gotham and the Batfamily, Liao Yin thought: ...
And began missing his homeland.jpg
But as he was pining for home, he found a man covered in injuries.
Or rather, he found a water ghost in the river, a handsome sweetheart with an American face. Just by looking at his face, you could tell he was beautiful.
So Liao Yin shamefully hesitated.
In the end, unable to resist the temptation of beauty, he carried the guy straight home.
Whatever. He could look after him for a while.
He looked like he was used to the finer things, but he sure had a lot of injuries.
As he pulled the man's clothes open to apply medicine, Liao Yin silently remarked on it, then took the opportunity to cop a feel.
Bruce, who had washed his face with an entire canister of fear toxin, woke up a day later with temporary amnesia. All he remembered was that his name was Bruce.
Liao Yin had only been in this world for three days. He'd just sorted out his ID, and hadn't even met Gotham's richest man, let alone seen that famously gorgeous face with those bright blue eyes. So he started bluffing without hesitation: "I'm your lover."
That face was just too lovable. He had to try his luck and see if he could fool him.
Most importantly, it didn't matter if he failed. His flight home was already booked, and he'd be leaving in six months.
Either way, he'd be going back to China, and he was strong enough not to worry about getting beaten to death.
Bruce spent three days with him, a little wary at first, and discovered the guy could do everything.
His cooking was superb, he could easily figure out what Bruce liked to eat, his looks were exactly Bruce's type, he was smart and socially savvy, had enough money to support him, and was full of sweet talk.
So Bruce believed him.
A week later, Bruce remembered everything.
But then he would turn around and see those black eyes gazing at him with such deep affection, hear sweet words delivered with the flirtatious skill of an Italian and a Frenchman, so tenderly weaving their way into his heart, and think of how Liao Yin could cook anything he wanted...
Bruce, who had fallen hard in a week: Maybe dating him wouldn't be so bad...
It's just that his boyfriend can't fight for toffee. He'll have to keep his other identity well hidden.
A happy little problem, in a way (sigh).
But without Bruce knowing, Liao Yin had also managed to make contact with his homeland and become a member of the Chinese side. Now he was embedded here as a spy.
So later on...
The Big Bat: He doesn't know my identity. He thinks I've lost my memory, and only just realized that I'm Bruce Wayne. He might even be a little face-blind.
He's so weak. I have to protect him.
Liao Yin, a scoundrel with Italian, French, and Chinese roots who was starting to genuinely like the Big Bat despite himself: So he's Bruce Wayne. He still doesn't know that I've figured out his other identity~
He's so cute. I'll kill everyone who hurts him.
And I can send home everyone's files except his, right? I'll have to keep that well hidden.
They exchanged smiles, each with his own agenda, then one went into the kitchen while the other helped out.
The Big Bat: Good thing I showered after beating up Penguin. Otherwise, he'd have smelled the gunpowder from the battlefield and Penguin's cologne. Having a boyfriend with a dog's nose is such a sweet problem.
Liao Yin: I managed to take out Joker, and I had a legitimate self-defense justification for killing him, but I almost got my chest slashed by my own darling's Batarang. I lost a tiny bit on that one.
Bruce Wayne, Batman: Another wonderful day of keeping my secret identity safe and trying to be a normal person.
Liao Yin: Another wonderful day of pretending to be blind, spoiling my lover, and keeping my spy identity secret~
They exchanged another smile.
Well, this game of love built on disguises, amnesia, and fake feelings was like a twisted high-rise. They both got what they wanted, all while wearing sweet but false masks.
When would it all come crashing down?
P.S. At first, Bruce's feelings for the protagonist were more attachment than love. It was like he was combining the image of his parents with that of his butler. Later, Batman investigated every detail of his life, confirmed he was clean and wasn't using him, and only then did they truly start dating from the heart.
P.P.S. The protagonist didn't mean it at first either. This emotionally unreliable guy with three nationalities was only in it for his looks.
P.P.P.S. They both developed genuine feelings as they got used to each other. And since they're both romantic, they know exactly what they're doing.
I just want to write two guys flirting with each other until heaven and earth grow dim and the sun and moon lose their light, because American, French, and Italian romance is so damn seductive! Cheek kisses, kisses and cuddles, being lifted up (?), candlelit dinners, and later standing together on a gargoyle, their capes embracing and their shadows overlapping. What's not to love?
It's obviously the best thing ever!
Anyway, I'm having a great time~
And there's something so exciting about how it's passionate and totally over the line, yet also sincere and distant and testing the waters. It's even more ambiguous than a normal spy-versus-spy domestic life, and the process of hiding things from each other is so much fun. Just thinking about it gets me excited~
