When a Beta Gets Dropped into the World of Normal People

In interstellar society, Alphas and Omegas are the rarest, and equally precious. The only difference is that one is more likely to become a military big shot, while the other is more likely to become a kept canary.

But none of this has anything to do with Betas.

Because Betas are nothing special.

Betas, whose population is roughly one hundred times the combined number of Alphas and Omegas, have little in the way of rights. They are even less sensitive to Alpha and Omega pheromones than Alphas and Omegas themselves. They have less combat talent than Alphas, and less flexibility and reproductive ability than Omegas. So Betas becoming society's labor force and occupying the lower rungs of the social ladder is simply a fact of life.

And if one Beta in this world disappeared without anyone noticing, that would be perfectly normal, right?

And so Al transmigrated.

He transmigrated into a very unusual world.

This world's technology wasn't as advanced, and its humans weren't as beautiful as those in his own world, but they were equal.

Equal in a way that was beautiful, and made his heart flutter.

So he looked down at the hands that used to spend all day coding, hacked into a foreign country, and gave himself a foreign identity, but one with Chinese nationality.

He had actually wanted to give himself an identity from this region of China, but one look at his blond hair, blue eyes, and strikingly handsome features told him that wouldn't work. People here had softer features and less sharply defined contours, and everyone around them knew each other. His sudden appearance would be far too conspicuous, so he was better off claiming he'd only recently arrived in China.

But Al soon realized that in this world, he seemed to have every advantage.

Betas might be more commonplace, but they also rarely lost their reason. Compared to Alphas and Omegas, they were much more stable and less easily swayed.

And although Betas were less sensitive to pheromones, they could still make out people's feelings from them, if only faintly.

When two people stood chatting and laughing, he could stand nearby and smell that one of them was extremely anxious, while the other was actually just talking circles around them.

Yes, he could smell emotions.

People here didn't have pheromones, but that didn't stop him from smelling their emotions.

Other people could try as hard as they liked to hide their feelings, but he could smell them perfectly clearly. There was no way to blur them out.

Most importantly, he didn't have to spend sixteen hours a day coding anymore.

Al clenched his fist slightly, peered through the gap between his fingers at the sun, then let his hand fall open.

The sun was bright and warm, its glare stinging his eyes a little.

Ah, this equal world was so beautiful.
