"Not bad. At least I'm set from the start."
[Choose your identity: 1d3, police academy student / detective / Tokyo University student]
[Player rolls: 1d3 = 1]
[Identity obtained: police academy student]
"Sure, I did roll for it, but isn't this a little unoriginal?" The player fell into thought.
[Choose when to enter the story: 1d3, before the main characters / in the same year as the main characters / after the main characters]
[Player rolls: 1d3 = 1]
[Time selected: before the main characters]
"So I'm a senior?" The player rubbed his chin and raised an eyebrow with a smile. "Not bad."
[Choose your attributes.]

"..." The player fell silent.
"Fine, I'll make do. What else can I do? At least I rolled it myself." The player clicked his tongue.
If your starting stats are bad and your luck is bad too, there's really nothing you can do.
[Choose your learning talent: 1d3, poor / average / excellent]
[Player rolls: 1d3 = 3]
[Learning talent: excellent]
"...Fine, an intelligence build again. When will I get to charge straight through everything?" The player sighed, his stamina never improving. "Fine, at least it's fair."
Some time later, the player graduated with the highest written exam score.
[Choose your career: 1d9, Organized Crime Countermeasures Department / General Affairs Department / Security Department / Police Department / Traffic Department / Public Security Bureau / Criminal Affairs Department / Community Safety Department / Crime Prediction Countermeasures Headquarters]
[Player rolls: 1d9 = 6]
"The Public Security Bureau?" The player's mouth twitched. "Dice girl, are you backstabbing me?"
Why would a physically weak, intelligence-build player join the Public Security Bureau?
But evidently, the dice girl wouldn't change her mind just because the player complained.
In the end, the player still joined the Public Security Bureau.
He worked his way up to become a pretty impressive hacker, even able to give orders to another main character, a blond, dark-skinned junior.
[Ding! Affection has reached the threshold. Change its direction?]
[Available directions: friendship to friendship / friendship to romance]
[The player may choose freely.]
[1.] The player chose without hesitation. [I'm straight. Lock it to friendship!]
[Ding! Relationship type selected: friendship, close friends]
[You accidentally encounter a shootout while traveling.]
[Make a Luck check.]
[Luck: 75/55, success]
The player rolled across the ground and dodged the bullets.
[Second Luck roll.]
[Luck: 75/84, failure]
He was caught by the Syndicate. The player felt a little hopeless.
If he'd known this kind of trouble would happen on his trip, he'd never have gone, even if it killed him!
The pain setting is at 50%, you know! Rolling on the ground still hurts!
He's an intelligence build, not a combat build!
[Third Luck roll.]
[Luck: 75/23, hard success]
The person from the Syndicate who caught him didn't notice an empty bottle rolling underfoot during the shootout. He slipped and fell. Since he was still gripping the player, he landed on top of him like a cushion.
The impact made him loosen his grip, and the player managed to escape.
[Hidden roll.]
"Damn it, now's really not the time...!" the player yelled as he dodged bullets.
[Hidden roll (Luck): 75/80, failure] (Hidden information, not visible to the player)
[Result: Player shot in the left leg]
A bullet tore through the tendon in the player's left leg, and he fell to the ground with a thud.
[Hidden rolls x2.]
The player was seized and tied up nearby. He had almost given up hope by now. Everyone knew the dice girl would backstab you a second time after she'd already screwed you over once.
[Hidden roll (Luck): 75/88, failure] (Hidden information, not visible to the player)
[Result: Player shot in the abdomen]
With a bang, the player and his chair toppled over.
The abdominal wound wasn't fatal, but it hurt like hell.
And if left untreated, he could bleed to death.
[Hidden rolls x3]
[Hidden roll (Luck): 75/67, success] (Hidden information, not visible to the player)
[Result: The other side stops firing.]
Someone yanked the player's hair up, forcing him to face a silver-haired man with dark green eyes and an unmistakable murderous aura.
"Who are you?"
The player wanted to smile bitterly, but he was out of strength.
This was a catastrophic start. Even an ordinary person would probably have died in that shootout, never mind him, a Public Security officer. Even if he was truly innocent, he was the perfect scapegoat.
But he didn't want to die so easily.
Or rather, he wanted to take a few people down with him.
[I'm an investigator, right?] the player asked.
[Yes, you are,] came the reply.
[I want to request the San Check System and the Cthulhu Mythos world setting!] the player snapped. [If I can't survive, then none of us will!]
At worst, they'd all make San checks together! His Willpower was 98. What did he have to fear?
[Request approved. The Cthulhu Mythos world setting and San Check System have been issued.]
[As usual, the first Cthulhu Mythos incident will take place near the player.]
And so, a thick tentacle reached out from an abandoned altar nearby.
PS: The early part is a normal Detective Conan world. In the middle, the Cthulhu Mythos setting is introduced, and from then on the world will be not only Conan-like but Cthulhu Mythos as well. My condolences to the future little detective's worldview. (And to the player, this is just a game, so he introduces the Cthulhu setting without hesitation. He's only furious at the game, not deliberately introducing a dangerous world setting. The player's worldview is normal.)
PPS: The story mainly follows the dice. All the player's settings are determined by the dice girl, as is the plot. The protagonist can only draw a new card after tearing up the previous one. He can't follow the plot forward and will instead return to the very beginning and make his choices again. Of course, the choices may change as well.
PPPS: After the final world ends, all the main game characters involved in changing the worlds will retain their memories of every world. The player may end up atoning in the afterlife, or may leave with his mission accomplished.
PPPPS: If you can't accept this, click the X in the top right. You'll be happy, I'll be happy, everyone will be happy. If you dare flame the author, the author will definitely flame you right back, so instead of flaming each other, let's create a civilized and friendly online environment together.
Theme: Be careful when setting someone up. They might drag you down with them.
