A Scientific Guide to Going Undercover

Completed sweet romance: My Secret Identities Let Me Run Wild in the Detective Conan World, pairing: Rei How to Raise a Bourbon Dumpling as an Onmyoji, pairing: Rei Coming next: I Really Don’t Have a Love Rival Showdown [The author loves every character and only reads feel-good, sweet stories. No borrowing trouble just to serve up angst. If you’re a troublemaker, stay away from me.] Yagami Kaede was an undercover agent sent by the Public Security Bureau to infiltrate the distillery, but his sole contact died unexpectedly, cutting off communication with the Bureau. Six years later, Public Security sent another agent undercover to the distillery. Handler: There’s a Public Security Bureau mole in the distillery, but I don’t know who it is. While you’re at it, see if they’re still alive. Rei: Why doesn’t anyone on our side know who the mole is? Handler: Because they were afraid of being exposed, they hacked into the Public Security Bureau’s computers and deleted every trace of their own files. Yagami Kaede, diligently working undercover at the distillery, was the senior executive Camus Brandy, but he never forgot his mission: Ah, Rye, Bourbon, Scotch… The organization keeps recruiting more and more talent. This is really bad. As an outstanding and dutiful Public Security agent, I need to come up with a way to kill them off one by one! Step one: Frame them as moles. Step two: Gin, time to get up and do some work~ Flawless plan √ Bourbon: Gin, Camus, and Rye are all heartless killers. They have to die. Rye: Camus is even harder to deal with than Gin. If I’m about to be exposed, I might as well pin the mole label on Bourbon. Scotch: It seems Rye has figured out our identities. We should strike first! Yagami Kaede: Tsk, infighting in the organization? That saves me the trouble. Two years later: Akai: You wanted to kill me when we were in the organization. Now I’m FBI and you’re undercover, so why are you still chasing me down? Yagami Kaede: That’s what you get for picking on my adorable junior. Die, Akai Shuichi! Gin: Well done. You really are my partner, the organization’s ace at rooting out moles. Scotch: Zero, which side should we help? Bourbon: One’s a criminal and the other’s FBI. I hope they take each other out! Handler: Still looking for my mole today. Pairing: Kaede/Akai. Side pairing: Hiromitsu/Rei. The order of the names matters. No breaking up the pairings, reversing their roles, or shipping them with other characters. Apart from Hiromitsu/Rei and canon pairings, there are no other side pairings. For canon pairings, other than legally married couples, the author only recognizes Shinichi/Ran, Heiji/Kazuha, and Kaito/Aoko. Warnings: 1. Kaede/Akai are adults in a romantic relationship. The Public Security crew have a familial bond, and Kaede and Ai have a father-daughter relationship. Please don’t add random romantic arrows. 2. The male lead is very much a redhead, of mixed Japanese and English heritage, born and raised in the Japanese setting of the Detective Conan world, and a nationalist. 3. My male lead is the most overpowered and beloved character in the whole story, and he’ll never fail. This is a feel-good, sweet story! Don’t imagine that the author is going to break your heart! 4. Shuichi and Akemi’s past won’t be changed, and there’s a tiny bit of Shuichi/Akemi at the beginning. They break up very soon. In big letters: Akemi will not be saved! 5. All my fanfiction is based on the Detective Conan anime, including the complete anime series, movies, Wild Police Story, and Zero’s Tea Time. The anime is a standalone work. I politely decline guidance from manga continuity sticklers, not to mention oddballs who insist I watch Gosho’s interviews. I’ve never heard of people having to study an author’s interviews to write fanfiction. Do you really believe everything Gosho says? P.S. There’s quite a lot of Hiromitsu/Rei. I didn’t mean to write it this way, but my keyboard had ideas of its own… If you don’t ship Hiromitsu/Rei, I don’t recommend reading this. If you don’t ship Shuichi with anyone, I don’t recommend it either. I love both pairings, and I hope you will too. One more P.S.: The author often writes right up against the deadline, so if there isn’t time, I’ll post first and fix typos later. No typo hunting in the first ten minutes after posting! I will fix them! Coming soon: How to Raise a Bourbon Dumpling as an Onmyoji Hanayama-in Ren, born into a distinguished family, has a secret: in his previous life, he was Japan’s last true onmyoji. But in this world, the way of yin and yang has fallen into decline, and he has never seen a single monster or ghost. That is, until he finds his first shikigami at the site of an explosion in an office building. After that, he finds his second, third, and fourth at a Ferris wheel, on a rooftop, and at a crossroads… Huh, and there’s a pretty ghost lady with golden hair who came looking for him all by herself. Hanayama-in Ren: So you all know each other. From now on, let’s get along, be kind to one another, and be good little ghosts! Half a year later, after getting into Tohto University, Hanayama-in Ren moves to Beika Town and visits his aunt, who works as a lawyer. That’s when he discovers that his uncle is a drunk middle-aged man who claims to be a famous detective, his cousin is a karate champion who can punch a telephone pole in half, and there’s also a little elementary schooler in their family who wears glasses and is obsessed with deduction. Oh, so this world is ruled by Detective Conan logic. No wonder every ghost in the world keeps its distance! However, just as he decides to leave Japan in the middle of the night, he fishes a little blond boy with dark skin out of the river Shikigami No. 1: Raise him, raise him! We have to raise him! Ren: He’s alive. How am I supposed to raise him if he hasn’t even become a ghost? Shikigami No. 2: No problem. He’s easy to look after. Shikigami No. 3: Right, we’ll all help you raise him. Shikigami Nos. 4 and 5: Look at him! He’s this~~ kawaii! How could you possibly not raise him? Ren: Help! How is someone who can’t even keep a cactus alive supposed to take care of a kid? Zero only remembers that his cover was blown, Gin forced him to take APTX 4869, and then threw him into a river. But why did he wake up shrunk down to seven years old, with the big boy who seemed to have rescued him arguing seriously with thin air… Help: Should I contact Kazami first, or call Aoyama General Hospital? Hanayama-in Ren discovers that after cuddling the little Zero, he can actually cultivate spiritual power in this world? Kazami: Thank you for saving Mr. Furuya. Please hand him over to Public Security. Ren, hugging him tight: No! He’s mine, mine, mine, my spiritual power! Nobody’s taking my Zero! Zero, blushing: … Theme: After the long night, dawn will surely come.
