The Fiery Weaver Girl

The tenth time Lin Zhi cursed the Cowherd for being a pervert, she transmigrated into the Weaver Girl, who was bathing in a lake. Unfortunately, she was too late. The Cowherd had already stolen her feather robe and hidden it away. Without it, she couldn’t return to Heaven. If she couldn’t go back, then she wouldn’t. Life on Earth was much more carefree. Fairies couldn’t freeze or starve to death, and all she needed was a little house to settle down. She could even mooch offerings from the mountain god and the land goddess. That pervert who hid her feather robe was no good at all. He seemed honest and simple, but was actually sly and lecherous. He was also a gossip, going around telling everyone that his sister-in-law was mean and had kicked him out, ruining her reputation and turning her into the evil sister-in-law everyone talked about. Come on, it was just a normal division of the family property. If his sister-in-law were really cruel, she wouldn’t have let him take the ox. This is ancient times. Do you know how much a plow ox is worth? And then there was that old yellow ox who encouraged him to commit crimes. You’re an ox, so stick to plowing the fields. Why are you acting like a pimp? You keep coming up with one underhanded scheme after another to get your master a wife. Lin Zhi ruined every scheme she came across. Nobody objected to him finding a wife on his own merits, but she couldn’t stand it when he resorted to dirty tricks. The old yellow ox waited and waited. When it finally died, its master was still a bachelor, and the old ox died with its eyes open. The Cowherd’s life grew more and more miserable. His reputation changed from honest and reliable to the very definition of deceitful, and the village girls took a detour whenever they saw him. It was only much later that he suddenly realized he had been haunted by bad luck ever since he spied on the fairy bathing and stole her feather robe.
