Starting with Farming and Raising Cats

Jiang Xing was dying of a terminal illness. He planned to finish his bucket list, then move to the countryside and spend the rest of his life there. One day, a chubby orange cat with long fur formed a bond with him and shared its life with him. After moving to the countryside, he caught a fish in the river that glowed orange all over. Eating it kept him warm in the cold; then he found mushrooms with long legs on the mountain. Eating them made him feel light as a feather; later, he transplanted a fruit tree from some ruins. Every night, the fruit would jump down from the branches and run around, then hang itself back up during the day. As the supplies grown in his fields kept increasing, the handsome mountain god who was neither wholly good nor evil, living in the mountains behind his house, came down more and more often, first to mooch wine and meals, then to make himself at home. Over time, Jiang Xing’s fields grew larger and larger, and he produced an ever-greater variety of agricultural products.
