Notes on the Primordial Chaos Demon Gods

The primordial gods were born before heaven and earth were divided, when good and evil were still indistinguishable and all things lay in primordial chaos. Among the most famous were Pangu, who created heaven and earth; Hongjun, who sacrificed himself to unite with the Dao; and Luohu, who reveled in evil and wreaked havoc. And then there was… Shang Yin, who just wanted to keep her head down. That’s right. Though she was also a primordial god, Shang Yin had no fighting ability whatsoever, aside from an enchantingly beautiful face that looked anything but demure. All she had was a chaotic tortoiseshell that even the Heavenly Dao couldn’t do anything about. The primordial gods had no place in the primordial world, but Shang Yin was an exception. She was such a homebody and so laid-back that she never went out, and if she didn’t stir up trouble, the Heavenly Dao couldn’t find an excuse to strike her down. And so… she quietly became the last Chaos God in the primordial world. That is, until Hongjun sought to unite with the Dao, and the Jade Disc of Creation declared that his worldly ties were not yet severed. Following the red thread pointed out by the Jade Disc of Creation, Hongjun and the Heavenly Dao dragged Shang Yin, the lazy shut-in, out of a cave in some remote corner. Hongjun frowned. “…” She looks oddly familiar. Shang Yin recognized her amnesiac former lover. “.” A few things to know: ★ Shang Yin is not a tortoise who took human form. The shell is just a metaphor! ★ There are no innocent, adorable girls among the primordial gods. The heroine only has beauty going for her among the traits of truth, kindness, and beauty. She’s a striking beauty with a lazy nature. Being lazy doesn’t mean she’s weak, and a lazy person’s anger can be terrifying. ★ I’m not very good at writing blurbs, but this isn’t a conventional romance. It leans toward an ensemble cast and plot-driven storytelling, with romance playing a relatively small part. ★ There’s no single definitive original text for the primordial-world setting. The characters are mostly drawn from ancient myths, so no prior reading is needed. I’ve made many original additions, so please don’t scrutinize the details too closely. Yan Shuo has no interest in the throne. When an assassination attempt leaves him temporarily blind, he conceals his condition and goes along with events. Yet, while blind, he “saw” many delights he had never noticed before. And just as everyone else was avoiding him at all costs, a young woman resolutely made her way through the crowd and sat across from him. Yan Shuo could hear the young woman’s fingers tremble slightly around her cup, but her voice was firm and unwavering. She said: She wanted to marry him.
