Death Came Knocking at the Bat-Family's Door [Western Crossover]

With his powers sealed and his appearance reduced to that of a boy, retired death god Suriel had empty pockets. After the Waynes tricked him, he knocked on the door of the Batfamily's home. After his usual post-patrol sleep-in, Bruce was hauled out of bed. He frowned at the white-haired, green-eyed boy in front of him. Suriel held out a hand in greeting. "Hello, Bruce. I'm your fiance. My name is Suriel." Bruce closed his eyes and pressed hard against the bridge of his nose. This was exactly why he shouldn't get up early. What kind of nonsense was he dreaming about? Suriel glanced at the two little heads peeking around the corner of the entryway, paused, then spoke with complete sincerity. "If you prefer black hair and blue eyes, I can do that too." Bruce: "..." He knew his reputation was terrible, of course, but he didn't want rumors about a black-haired, blue-eyed boy to keep spreading until they became a headline about the young Master Wayne's underage fiance. "Boy..." Bruce had only gotten halfway through the sentence when Suriel showed him a keepsake that had once belonged to his mother, and that he had never managed to recover. His gaze instantly turned icy. Though the whole affair had been a chaotic mess, Suriel was quite happy with the grounds of Wayne Manor. The air of deadly danger made it feel like home:) A life where he could laze around like a couch potato while danger lurked around every corner was exactly the kind of retirement he'd dreamed of. * Until one day, when aliens invaded and Superman went out of control, Suriel, whose identity as a death god had gone unrecognized all this time, furrowed his brow slightly and drew his scythe from the void. A pitch-black cloak, silver hair, green eyes, and beneath the hood, half of a grown man's face, its mouth turned down, radiating murderous intent. "Who gave you permission to cross over and die here?" "Get back where you came from." Reader's guide: ★ Batfamily fic, powerful couple, written to suit my personal tastes. (Damn, why are there so few Batfics! Does nobody love Brucey?!) ★ The DC canon is a bit of a mess, with all sorts of versions and parallel timelines. I'll respect the original material, but there'll be plenty of my own interpretations. Theme: Flowers bloom even in hardship
