Daily Life Raising a Demon Lord Cat in the Dungeon

[Dropped, on indefinite hiatus]

As a traditional warrior who doesn't use magical machinery weapons, Rodan was assigned by the Adventurers' Guild to an unexplored dungeon no one cared about.

The dungeon was dark, damp, and sunless, and it was home to terrifying monsters unlike any found on the surface.

Other adventurers: "Sure, the conditions are a little rough, but at least you don't have a mortgage to pay, right?"

Still, not a single person was willing to go down and help Rodan.

Later, when the Demon Dragon brought about the end of the world, the prophet led the last of humanity into the dungeon. There, they found magical lights illuminating the underground streets, state-of-the-art magical machinery in operation, and the supposedly terrifying monsters docilely gathering around Rodan.

Humanity: "This is what a traditional warrior looks like? How did he make the dungeon so stylish?"

As Rodan welcomed humanity, he stroked a little black cat in his arms. "You can move in, but don't break A Ying's toys."

Humanity: ... So the entire dungeon is a cat tree for a black cat? Is our future home going to be one, too? This pet owner is so unreasonable!

Rodan: "Remember to pay rent. If you don't have any money, you can put up your new magical weapons as collateral."

Humanity: "Of course! We love building cat trees!"

But why does that black cat look so strange?

The Shadow Lord had been lonely for many years, and no one knew it existed.

Everyone could see its shadowy dungeon, but no one could see its true form curled up in a corner.

Until one day, a warrior named Rodan came to the dungeon, cooked a bowl of fish soup, and set it in front of the Shadow Lord. In a gentle voice, he said, "Be a good kitty and come here."

For the first time, it saw its own reflection in someone else's eyes.
