Hardcore Secret Identity Role-Playing System

Paywall announcement: This novel will go behind a paywall on August 27. Please show your support! Jiang Wang rarely went out, but when he finally did, he went hiking and was caught in a landslide. After his death, a secret identity roleplay System came to him. Complete its missions and he could come back to life and earn money, too. Jiang Wang: What are we waiting for? Bind me already! But this secret identity roleplay System is way too hardcore. Other people’s Systems automatically generate secret identities with all kinds of powerful abilities, and even help their Hosts split their personalities and take over, or run multiple secret identities so they can act opposite themselves. Their shops let you become infinitely stronger as long as you can pay! Jiang Wang’s System just sends him off to be reborn, truly starting from zero: Host must successfully play Dazai. No energy left for his No Longer Human ability. Awaken it yourself. Jiang Wang, starting off as a baby version of Dazai: ... Seriously, it’s making him live from zero for real?! He even has to awaken his ability by himself. Could it not be so hardcore? Jiang Wang’s System: Energy depleted. Host, keep working hard. System entering hibernation. Over. Later, Jiang Wang says: “This disgusting world no longer deserves to exist.” Jiang Wang as Dazai presses the button to detonate Earth. “Erase everything and reboot the planet! That’s my ability: No Longer Human!” The System, forced awake by the energy from the impending apocalypse: Host, you said I was hardcore... You’re even more hardcore! (Sobbing) Jiang Wang: It was an accident, really! Next time, you’ll have enough energy to give me the ability to copy secret identities, right? The System, never expecting to get energy this way: ...Yes, I do now. Please, Host, stop causing trouble! Coming up: Jiang Wang as Geto: “I don’t need Brain to steal my body. I’ll eat Tengen first and free cursed energy. Let’s all welcome the age of prosperity for jujutsu!” Jiang Wang as Mori: “Why bother with Yokohama’s Three-Part Plan? Think bigger and unite the whole of Japan! The underdog making a comeback and defeating his superiors is the most classic plot. Let me think, what should I name this new country?” Jiang Wang as Tiger: “You want to take over my body? Great, come on! Two jars of plain noodles, and your cursed energy, soul, everything will become my nourishment! Long time no see, Brain. Thanks for the snacks you brought me. How do you want to die?” System: ...I’ll send you off to be reborn right now! Jiang Wang: Don’t! Playing secret identities is too much fun. I want to keep going (playing)! System: Waaaah... Reader advisory: It’s all in the blurb. There will definitely be out-of-character behavior, so proceed with caution. Theme: Hardship makes people stronger!
