Someone Wants to Save Me Every Day

[The story is complete. Thanks for your support! (bows)] →→ Check out the ongoing series "Surviving Between My Brothers in a Family That Favors Sons" Hatsuzaki Chizuru suddenly realized that lately, the people around him seemed a little off. Miyano, whom he’d met only once at a research conference, suddenly emailed him with an earnest warning: he absolutely must not get involved with the man codenamed Gin or the organization behind him. Hatsuzaki Chizuru: ...Who’s Gin? After his older childhood friend Natsuyu, whom he hadn’t spoken to in ages, came to visit with his white-haired friend, he started calling and texting every day to check in. He also said Chizuru could ask them for help with anything and didn’t have to shoulder it alone. Hatsuzaki Chizuru: ...Then can you reimburse my internet and phone bills? While on a business trip in Yokohama, he happened to pass by the beach. A red-haired, blue-eyed boy leaped down from the sky and stood between him and the sea, looking utterly panicked. “There’s still time! Please, don’t do anything rash!” Hatsuzaki Chizuru: ...But I just wanted to pick up a seashell? When he got home from his business trip, he saw Officer Matsuda, whom he’d met a few times, standing outside his apartment building. Cigarette butts littered the ground. Who knew how long he’d been waiting? Matsuda turned to look at him. After a long pause, he said, “I won’t smoke anymore.” Hatsuzaki Chizuru: …? - Only after a manga forum app appeared on his phone and proved impossible to uninstall did Hatsuzaki Chizuru learn that he was the big bad of this manga. Even so, from the moment he appeared, forum readers voted him the most popular character. [I don’t want to like a villain either, but when I see his face, my hand votes for him all by itself!] [Who would’ve thought that someone who looks so aloof would join the Black Organization just because he wanted to bring Matsuda back to life?] [Didn’t Matsuda become a cursed spirit because of his obsession? That tear when he looked down at his own hands while turning against everyone else to protect cursed-spirit Matsuda... My heart really broke...] [Don’t forget, at the end, he lost all hope of bringing Matsuda back, and cursed-spirit Matsuda was gone too. He stumbled into the sea... Not long before, he’d molecularly restructured five buildings in the port, and then he sank alone into the depths...] [He even asked for a cigarette before going into the sea... Does anyone remember that Matsuda smoked a cigarette right before he died?!] Hatsuzaki Chizuru: ????? - The manga had clearly ended, but the forum readers discovered a new bonus chapter. It was a bonus story where everyone had been reborn with their memories intact, except for Hatsuzaki Chizuru. New story: "Surviving Between My Brothers in a Family That Favors Sons" Introverted Akiko seemed to attract troublemakers by nature. After transferring schools, she was targeted by delinquents again. To get their protection, she had no choice but to turn to the “older brother” in her foster family for help. Her older brother was self-centered but dependable. Under his not-quite-obvious protection, Akiko got through a peaceful stretch of time. Then one day, her older brother left for Spain to pursue his dream of playing soccer, leaving Akiko alone with his younger brother. Akiko was afraid of being dragged back into the cycle of bullying, but the younger brother silently stepped in to take over his brother’s “responsibility.” Even when the brothers’ relationship fell apart, he never abandoned Akiko. ...As long as she kept praising the younger brother, as long as she kept repeating that he was more dependable than his older brother, who was far away in Spain, she would be protected. Driven by the instinct to survive, she said it faster every time, until she became more and more practiced at it. Then one day, Itoshi Sae appeared out of nowhere and rescued Akiko from danger. Before Akiko could even thank him, her usually aloof older brother raised an eyebrow and looked past her. The brothers faced off. “You’re still so slow to act,” Itoshi Sae said. “That’s why this happened.” Itoshi Rin glared at him, his words deliberate and sharp. “Give her back to me.” Itoshi Sae gave a cold laugh. “Give her back?” Their gazes fell on Akiko at the same time, heated and dangerous. ...This time, there was really no escaping the bad guys.
