The Sakata Method of Acting

"Dear Mr. Sakata, as Professor Gojo, the backbone of our school, is absent and we're short-staffed, we'd be very grateful if you could fill in as a teacher for a while."

One day, the owner of the Odd Jobs shop received a strange request, setting him on a new career as a substitute teacher.

The white-haired teacher sat in a pachinko parlor, enjoying a strawberry parfait while playing pinball. Some weekends, he even filled in on stage wearing a mascot costume. Before long, he was handling curses with all sorts of bizarre skills instead of jujutsu.

When students questioned the color of his eyes

Gin: "I've just got pinkeye."

When enemies questioned his cursed energy

Gin: "If you keep limiting yourself to cursed energy, you'll never learn stronger skills. Kamehameha!"

When colleagues questioned his height

Gin: "A man's height shrinks as he gets older, you know."

Damn it! Why is this guy so tall? His shoe lifts are already five centimeters high!

With his uncanny knack for getting into character, Gin successfully blended in with the locals. As a teacher, he led the way in skipping class, indulged in sweets and pachinko, and had to be dragged out of bars by his students every time, half dead.

Then, a month later, the real teacher came back from his trip, carrying souvenirs, and opened the door. "That business trip took a while! Did you miss me, everyone?"

Gin's hand, holding a Kikufuku, trembled ever so slightly.

The shut-in Baomu ordered a special trash can online to sort her garbage.

On the first day, she found a pair of sunglasses in the non-recyclable bin.

On the second day, she found a good-for-nothing pretty boy mooching off her in the non-recyclable bin.

From then on, every so often, different kinds of madao would spill out of the trash can on their own.

Sometimes it was a lazy good-for-nothing who spent all her allowance betting on a famous lottery, lost every last bit, then walked away without a care;

Sometimes it was a strawberry-haired, dead-fish-eyed natural perm who liked picking his feet and talking nonsense. After three days of playing Dou Dizhu, he lost three hundred million Happy Beans;

Sometimes it was a famous detective who solved cases with his eyes closed and the freeloading kid living at his house. All the liquor in the house got drunk, and the culprit fell asleep, snoring away with a hand at his throat.

The fake grade-schooler beside him feigned surprise:

"Huh? Why's Uncle asleep?"

You know perfectly well whether your uncle is asleep or not, don't you?

After spending time around the MADAO, Baomu, who owned dozens of rental properties and had more rent money than she knew what to do with, decided to get serious and became the year's most popular novelist with her debut work.

"Before I met him, I had no idea I was such an easygoing person."

"Every day, he'd sprawl on the sofa like a cat, too lazy to open his mouth even when food was right there. Sometimes I couldn't understand what he was thinking. I even worried he might die because he wouldn't eat."

"Then I discovered that the bastard had eaten all my beloved cheesecake / strawberry milk / fine wine, "
