* Fussy, spoiled, sickly young master gong x stubborn, pure-hearted mute shoushi bodyguard
-
The second young master's inner questions:
#What should I do when the little mute keeps flirting with me, intentionally or otherwise?#
#Is it normal to be attracted to men?#
#I got dizzy in the bath during sex and was carried back to bed. How do I save face!!!#

There was a young master in the residence of General Tang in the capital. Born into a military family, he was frail and delicate from childhood, with features more refined than a woman's. He hardly seemed like a general's son, more like a pretty companion raised deep within the household.
Tang Jian'an frequented places of food, drink, and entertainment, and his alluring, flirtatious eyes made the young women of the capital swoon. He became the enemy of many men, and his reputation outside the household was even worse.
He was terribly frail. A gust of wind could knock him over, and once someone punched him, he spent three days in bed.
His older brother couldn't stand to watch any longer, so he brought Ning Yan, a death-bound guard from the mountain estate, to serve as Tang Jian'an's personal bodyguard.
*
Ning Yan was young, not even as tall as Tang Jian'an. When he first saw him, his eyes practically stuck to him, and he seemed utterly unfamiliar with the world.
Ning Yan was a clean-cut, handsome child, but unfortunately he was mute, and couldn't read or write, either.
Their daily communication consisted of Ning Yan gesturing and Tang Jian'an guessing.
Though Tang Jian'an was fussy and annoying, Ning Yan wasn't bothered by him. Instead, deep down, he wanted more and more to protect him.
*
Then one day, the Tang household announced some news: Second Young Master Tang was getting married. He was marrying the mute little guard who had always protected him, supposedly so the man could keep protecting him in the future.
The absurd news made everyone laugh. But then the emperor presided over the wedding, foreign envoys came to offer congratulations, and festive red silk covered the capital's main streets.
Tang Jian'an cheerfully rode in a bridal sedan to fetch Ning Yan, who was waiting on horseback. It was such a bizarre scene that people didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
*
On their wedding night, Tang Jian'an relied on his handsome face, looking pitiful and forlorn as he traced circles on Ning Yan's palm, his face bright red.
"I'm frail. I might break. Let me take the lead."
Ning Yan's mind was a blur, overwhelmed by the festive red filling the room. He obediently lay down, not daring to use any of his strength on his delicate young master.
