In his previous life, Su Liang, a beta, had the audacity to seduce Lu Zhizhao, the future pride of the Lu family, and elope with him. Only after they’d run away together did Su Liang realize that his all-or-nothing, wholehearted devotion had been nothing but one enormous joke. Su Liang gave up everything, then died without a sound the day after Lu Zhizhao married someone else. Reborn, the once carefree and fearless fool finally learned to accept his fate. This time, Su Liang settled down to be the ordinary, unloved beta he was supposed to be, deciding that a simple life without wants or ambitions was actually pretty nice. After all, being a couch potato was the way to go. But only a few days of peace passed before he was sent to a forbidden place deep inside a grand estate. Lu Taipan was a big shot in the past and still is now, the kind of brooding big shot whose appearance leaves everyone holding their breath in fear. Yet this top-tier Alpha, who single-handedly propped up the Lu family, was tormented by pheromone dysregulation. The secluded villa where he rested was a forbidden place in everyone’s eyes. Everyone knew Su Liang had been made someone else’s scapegoat. Su Liang only smiled, thinking it wasn’t so bad. At least on that man’s turf, he’d never run into that fated AO couple with a compatibility score above 90 percent again. But for all his careful calculations, Su Liang never expected Lu Taipan to grab him in the throes of a pheromone disorder, then sink his teeth into the back of his neck. “Your pheromones... smell wonderful.” The man, like a demon, sniffed the pheromones on his body like a beast, murmuring greedily. Su Liang was horrified to discover that, as he and Lu Taipan grew closer, his pheromone glands, which shouldn’t have existed as a beta’s, had somehow begun developing again. Hiding my face. I have no writing skills. Slow burn. Some original worldbuilding. I’m just making things up to indulge in a wild idea. Strictly speaking, it’s an outdated, old-fashioned story! I thought this kind of thing was so behind the times that nobody read it anymore, so I had to write it for myself! Let me emphasize again: I’m writing this for myself. Please don’t give me writing advice. There will be some ridiculous, cheesy, mildly sci-fi nonsense, purely to make the romance happen. Daily updates in November. Update times are irregular!! Su Lin, who was constantly harassed for being too handsome, fled in misery to a remote, declining research institute to live a lazy life. But he never dreamed he’d encounter a surprise attack by the insect army there, let alone that an accident would cause his body to fuse with a bug queen specimen in a cultivation tank, one that had long since lost all signs of life. When he woke from the excruciating pain, Su Lin was horrified to discover that the insect army had “rescued” him from the collapsing laboratory. Thank goodness the bug queen specimen fused with his body was only an undeveloped larva, so the ravenous, vicious, fearsome male bugs didn’t notice anything amiss. Now Su Lin had to face two life-or-death questions. First, how could he hide the fact that he was human? Second, how could he hide the fact that he was also a bug queen from the crazed swarm? This story was started on a complete whim (buries face and sobs). It’ll probably be a short story... I’ve tried so many times, surely I can write a short or medium-length story that I can finish quickly... I wanted to read insect-race fiction where the bug queen reigns supreme, but couldn’t find anything new, so once again I’m writing it for myself through tears. Theme: True love can overcome all darkness.
