Playing Innocent

Could you, just for now, hold me for a moment?

Lin Chen

After his parents divorced, Lin Chen was sent back to his hometown to attend school. On his first day there, he went out for a late-night drink in the small county town and ran into a group of thugs picking on someone. Without hesitation, he threw a punch.

In the scuffle, a bookworm unexpectedly appeared out of nowhere.

The bookworm said solemnly, "Classmate, could you stop causing trouble in a crowd?"

Lin Chen could not tell if he was friend or foe, so he punched him too.

Afterward, they spent the whole night at the police station. Lin Chen listened to the bookworm lecture him all night and figured that would be the end of it.

But then they met again after school started!

Because Lin Chen's entrance exam scores were so poor, the teacher seated him right next to the bookworm!

After observing him for a while, Lin Chen realized the bookworm was only pretending to be a model student. Who knew this little brat would be good at both academics and fighting? He was always throwing punches in the apartment blocks. Lin Chen sized him up and decided the kid seemed even more ruthless than he was.

"Hi, I'm Jiang Wenshi."

"Hi, Lin Chen."

1. Proud, sharp-tongued academic slacker shou x cool, aloof gong who excels at both academics and fighting. One-on-one, happy ending, younger gong (one year apart).

2. The shou pursues the gong, then the gong pursues the shou. They dote on each other. A story of healing (probably).

3. Not a power fantasy. The setting is probably the era when everyone carried a Little Smart mobile phone.
