The System Always Makes Me Cheat on the Male Lead

[One-on-one romance, guaranteed happy ending, truly eccentric and kooky heroine x seemingly calm and dignified hero]

Tang Yihe, an online novelist whose works keep flopping, accidentally falls into the unfinished novel she wrote. To make matters worse, a shady System binds her to the role of the cannon-fodder third female lead, who is determined to cuckold the male lead.

System: [This novel was abandoned by its author before completion. Host, please complete the required tasks and restore the original storyline.]

Tang Yihe is stunned. “Wait, give me a moment. Isn’t this my own novel?”

[The author’s failure to complete this novel has caused public outrage. Host, you are now bound to this role. Begin the relevant plot missions as soon as possible.]

Tang Yihe: “No, I refuse, I won’t do it. I don’t want anything to do with that cold, aloof male lead!”

System: [Host, face reality. Enter “flop” to open the task panel.]

Tang Yihe: “Can I refuse?”

[The Host’s lifespan in the original world will be reduced by the corresponding amount of time.]

Tang Yihe resigned herself to her fate and entered “flop.” Only after successfully binding to the role did she discover that she was now the cannon-fodder third female lead, the eccentric Princess Rui.

“Your Highness, the princess has finally woken up!”

Tang Yihe: Then I choose to go back to sleep.

Prince Rui: “What are you pretending for? You openly called off the wedding on the day of the ceremony, and now you’re planning to run away from the manor!”

Tang Yihe: ...

Prince Rui: “You’ll never escape Prince Rui’s manor in this lifetime!”

The plot’s gone off the rails. Can she still get away?

Male lead: “You’re Prince Rui’s consort in life and in death. Don’t even think about running.”
