The Celestial Master’s Guide to Getting Rich [Farming]

When Wu Tian wakes up one day, the rules have changed: no more turning into spirits after the founding of the nation, and no more feudal superstition. As a ghost-catching Celestial Master, all he can do is take the ghosts he's caught and build a prosperous life by keeping up with the times, upgrading production, and adhering to the scientific outlook on development.

A long-haired female ghost whose hair grows thick and lush without end? I think you'd be perfect for a wig factory.

A knife-wielding ghost who loves dismembering and skinning people? Oh, go slaughter pigs at the abattoir.

And you, the high-tech ghost from overseas who crawls out of TVs? You're so good at climbing through televisions, you must have great ideas for making them. Go work at the new color TV factory next door.

And you, how many times have I warned you not to reach up from underground? You love digging so much, go plow the fields. I just bought a few hundred acres and can't bear to buy a tractor...

By putting ghostly resources to scientific use, Wu Tian enjoys a happy, prosperous life.

Socialism is great!

It's just that the new ghost is completely ordinary, with no remarkable traits at all. He never does anything useful, is useless at everything, and is first in line at mealtimes. It really gets on Wu Tian's nerves.

He figures he can't let resources go to waste, and sooner or later he'll find some use for him.
