Don't Fall in Love in a Sports Anime

[Blurb revised. Feel free to unfollow, I prostrate myself in apology.]

It took me seventeen years to realize I was living in a sports anime, and not just any crossover anime, but a crossover superpower sports anime.

Looking at my childhood friends, who play fantasy basketball and murderous tennis, Narumi Jiyu, freshly retired from professional figure skating, had a premonition that she wouldn't be able to enjoy a peaceful retirement after all.

That ominous feeling reached its peak when a shop opened across the street from her home, one that supposedly could make any wish come true.

And so, the ordinary life she'd been promised began to turn fantastical.

Her rebellious, dark-skinned childhood friend Aomine Daiki charged headlong across the tennis court with a racket, while her pink-haired childhood friend Momoi Satsuki swore she would win a Grand Slam someday and started battling a tennis ball machine.

Since those two were neglecting their proper pursuits, their heterochromatic-eyed captain, Akashi Seijuro, showed up to confess to her. But if he was going to confess, why did he want her to be the basketball manager?

Most terrifying of all, her former romantic rival had confessed to her too.

Wait, why did she say "too"?

Narumi Jiyu couldn't help falling into deep thought.

In the end, she rejected him, saying she couldn't date anyone under 180 centimeters tall.

When Yukimura Seiichi heard that excuse, he gave his 180-centimeter childhood friend a complicated look. "So Narumi really does like you after all, Sanada."

"Why are you dragging me into this?" Sanada Genichiro asked, confused. "Am I getting in your way?"

Narumi Jiyu cut him off, speaking righteously. "No, I'm sorry. I'm the one getting in the way of you two!"

Those two should just get together and stay together, spending the rest of their lives with tennis, damn it!

She must have been crazy to fall for an athlete in a sports anime!

Ugh, even a dog wouldn't date!
