After My Divorce, I Moved In With My Nemesis

"Director Shen, have you seen enough?" In front of the financial reporter's camera, Song Yanxi suddenly turned around. The pearl earring she took off rolled to her feet, revealing the rose tattoo behind her ear that only Shen Lingran knew about. That night, the investment bank's trading room was brightly lit. Shen Lingran pinned her against the wall of data flashing across the Bloomberg terminal, her fingertip tracing the merger agreement Song had just signed. "You'd already figured I'd lower the valuation for your wager..."

When morning light filtered through the mist, the heart-shaped egg in the pan was perfectly browned. Strawberry jam on her fingertip, Song Yanxi wrote an eighth tally mark on Shen Lingran's back. The short-selling reports they'd hurled at each other in the capital markets all those years had now become ways to tie a necktie before morning meetings. Just like the hands that touched during financial modeling class back in school: they seemed to be fighting over the same calculator, but were really sharing the same quickened heartbeat.

"Call me hubby and I'll let you off."

"...Song Yanxi!"
