The Grass Is Always Tastiest Close to Home

Gu Yu has been a chatterbox since she was little. She was born with a lovely voice and an adorable face, so nobody really minded when she went on and on. But only Xue Qi, her childhood friend who grew up with her, had genuinely loved listening to her ramble since they were children. One time, Xue Qi went on a business trip. With the time difference between them, Gu Yu could not keep calling and disturbing him, and the little chatterbox was practically dying from having to hold it all in. Then one day, Xue Qi suddenly called her on video at night. “Yu Yu, hurry.” Gu Yu: “Isn’t it the middle of the night where you are? Why aren’t you asleep?” The CEO Xue’s dark circles stood out against his pale face. “If you don’t talk, I can’t sleep.” Hearing that, Gu Yu immediately perked up and started broadcasting at full volume. “I had such a great day today! Except I missed you a little. Xiao A and I went to the supermarket and bought really delicious lollipops. I saved lots of flavors for you to try when you get back...” “...” The cool, handsome man on the other end immediately closed his eyes, his brow relaxing as he drifted off to sleep.
