Scandalous Lovers

[Coming soon in my author’s collection: “Fake Lovers”] Synopsis: Qin Yujue, a C-list actress, signed up for a dating reality show. Her manager found an ordinary man to pretend to be her fake boyfriend. On the day she went to the office to sign the contract, she pushed open the door and saw a man leaning lazily against the desk, a glowing red cigarette ember reflected in his dark eyes. He had a wild, carefree air, with a hint of languid confidence in his eyes. He seemed to be the fake boyfriend her manager had found. Qin Yujue set down the contract. “We’ll break up after the show ends. If you’re okay with that, sign here.” The man paused, then stubbed out his cigarette and leisurely picked up the dating contract. After glancing over it, he suddenly chuckled. “Fine.” He had barely signed his name when her manager walked in with the real “fake boyfriend” and exclaimed, “Second Young Master Xie? What are you doing here?” Qin Yujue stared in disbelief and looked down at the signature. Xie Yanchi. The second young master of the Xie family, rumored to be ruthless enough to devour people whole. “...Sorry, I mistook you for someone else. Should we void the contract?” Xie Yanchi lifted his eyes, amusement glinting in them, and drawled, “Absolutely not. You bought me for two hundred thousand. You can’t take advantage of me and then return me.” * The second young master of Jingyi Group, Xie, seemed like a carefree playboy, but everyone knew he was a menace best left alone. Once, a newcomer tried to offer herself to him, pouring him a drink with smoldering charm. Before the glass was even full, Xie Yanchi chuckled to himself and leaned close to whisper in her ear. His brows were sharp and cold, his voice suddenly icy. “Get lost.” Later, though, everyone saw this same menace on a hugely popular variety show, hands in his pockets as he followed a C-list actress around, smiling all the while. “Little girl, want me to teach you how to kiss today?” “Teach this to someone else. Get lost.” Everyone thought the young Mr. Xie was just acting on a whim, looking for a bit of fun. Only when the two ended their relationship did anyone realize that their dating contract had never been a coincidence. He had plotted it all from the start. [Mischievous, scheming charmer × radiant beauty] ★ One-on-one romance, reunion after years apart. The male lead is a total jerk. Happy ending! ★ Showbiz setting, no characters based on real people. >> Coming soon: “Fake Lovers” “I’d like to make a deal with Miss He.” “What kind of deal?” “My wife passed away seven years ago. She was the only person I ever loved. But my grandfather’s health is failing, and he may have only a month left. He wants me to start a new relationship.” The man slid a check and a family photo across the table. “So I’d like to hire you to pretend to be my fiancée for one month.” He Ran raised her eyes and leisurely picked up the items on the table. Her gaze lingered briefly on one person in the photograph: a man with a cool, languid air, just as she remembered him. He Ran’s eyes darkened slightly. “You have a younger brother?” “Yes. His name is Qi Chen.” He Ran laughed softly and said, “Sir, your younger brother was my first love in college.” The man was immediately embarrassed. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know you and A-Chen had that kind of relationship. Should we call off the deal?” “No need.” He Ran propped her chin on her hand, smiling like a sly cat. “But you’ll have to pay more.” * Rumor had it that the second young master of the Qi family was an irresponsible playboy, but decisive and ruthless when handling matters, and utterly indifferent to others. Yet he had an irresistibly flirtatious pair of eyes. Three years after graduating from college, the Qi family held a banquet to welcome the eldest son’s new fiancée. A glittering world of excess, with wine cups clinking all around. Qi Chen saw clearly that the charming, dazzling woman standing beside his brother was his ex-girlfriend, He Ran. Amid the lively crowd, He Ran seemed to sense his gaze and turned to look at him. Her eyes shone with a smile, and she held out her hand. “Second Young Master Qi, I look forward to working with you.” Qi Chen’s gaze darkened. An oppressive chill radiated from him, enough to make anyone shudder. After a long silence, he finally chuckled and took her hand, his voice low and hoarse. “Likewise.” Theme: Sweet romance
