Drowned in the Tower

1 Wen Yue’s parents favored boys over girls, and rumors spread all over Wuxiang Alley. Everyone told Xu Wu to stay away from the eldest daughter of the Wen family, but he refused to listen. 2 "The Tower Radio" had a segment with the theme: How fast is the wind, in meters per second, when you’re in love? Wen Yue was lucky enough to get through. Her answer was: The day I met him, the wind was blowing at 4.4 meters per second. She considered “4” her lucky number. Xu Wu, however, said “4” was unlucky. He liked “6.” Wen Yue teased him for being old-fashioned. * On the day the college entrance exams ended, Xu Wu called in to the radio station. It was a segment for people with secret crushes, but he insisted on joining the “wind speed” segment from six months ago. The host asked, “So, sir, how fast was the wind, in meters per second, when you fell for her?” “6.6 meters per second.” “Why 6.6 meters per second?” “More than hoping she’ll fall for me, I hope everything goes smoothly for her.” The host felt the scene was strangely familiar, so she continued, “You can also join today’s secret-crush segment.” “I hope Miss 4.4 has everything go smoothly in the days ahead, without me getting in her way.” 3 The joy of reuniting. Wen Yue ran her fingertip over his Adam’s apple. “Xu Wu, if I die, I’m taking you with me.” Xu Wu laughed. “Worried I’ll leave you behind?” “Don’t worry. The mist will hide the tower, and the moon will lose its way at the crossing. Xu Wu and Wen Yue are destined to be together.” * One-on-one romance: both leads’ first love, happy ending * He has a secret crush on her * Multiple timelines, mainly set in middle school and high school Theme: A place without light isn’t necessarily a dead end. It might be where a boy who likes you is hiding.
